These are placed round the bottles, which are thus kept apart and can be packed tight. —The medical students of Cincinnati were somewhat excited the other day by a search of all the colleges, at the instancy of a widow whose husband s body had disappeared from the ceme tery. Several subjects were found, but not the right one. —The flirtations and pleasant tete-a teles between the clerks of the New York postoffice and the young women who call for answers to matrimonial advertisements are complained of as nuisances. —A lady asked a pnpil at a public school, “What was the sin of the Phari sees?” “Eating camels, marm,” quickly replied the child. She had read that the Pharisees “strained at gnats and swallowed camels." —Gne of the women speakers at the Equal Rights meeting in New Yorki was so pretty that the public seemed inclined to give her any right she chose to ask. Some of the more antiquated ladies styled her “a forward minx,” though she blushed charmingly while speaking. —Mrs. David Kitchen, of Morgan county, Indiuna, gave birth to three children —a boy and two girls—a short time since. Iler husband was a member of the 33d Indiana, and was discharged for “disability.” “Who’s bin here since I’se bin gone ?” —The Tennessee Legislature must be a terrible affair. A Radical paper says “it has the eye of an eagle, the heart of a lion, and a strong right arm. whoso vigorous blows will shatter the last, refuge of Tennessee treuson to impalpa ble dust.” Nobody but Sam Mercer could have said tha^. —The Madison Argus told a newly married editorial friend that lie would find a difference between the matrimo nial and editorial experience.
