Os course the Yankees are abusing John Bull lustily. —The Louisville Democrat says Gen. Sherman and Mr. Campbell went to Mexico to find out what they went for. They hardly found it necessary to go (o fur to find out what they came hack for. l’hotosculpture, a French invention, by which one can get a perfect bust of himself as easily as to sit for a photo graph, has just been introduced at New York. The sitter is aimed at by twenty four cameras, placed in a circle of which he is the centre; and the busts are necessarily quite expensive. —lt is a singular coincidence that Major General Grant, a Scotch officer in the British army, in 1778 defeated General Lee, in command of the Amer ican forces in New Jersey, and was sfterwards promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General, and subsequently to that of General, in the British army. He died “very old,” at his seat at Bal iendallock, near Klgin, Scotland. —A Long Cuxbk. —Captain Charles A. Boujplle, of Augusta, Maine, recov cred a watch recently which was stolen from him six years ago in Liverpool, England. He was in a concert room at the time it was stolen, and immedi ately made the fact known to the detec fives there, who, after six years, sue reeded in finding it. —The Supreme Court has just decided that the officers of a corporation have no right, in an action in which they are a Party, to take, under a subpoena ducta tecum, the books from the company s office.
