oh ! I LONG TO SEE THEE-
Oh, I lon* *° ’** thee. darling,
On the cool end piemant street,
When tho sky is clear above thee
And the eephyrs and" thee greet;
I long to see thy lovely eyes
Their raiianee shed around,
ini for the time when we shall he
In holy wedlock bound.
Then thou wilt bless me, darling,
And take me to thy breast,.
Then will bear me thro'life’s journey
Till we gain eternal rest :
Thru wilt gently, sweetly lead me
In the path of pure/t bliss.
And when my brow is clothed with care
’ Thou'lt dispel it with a kiss. •
I would be so delighted
To hear thy voicw again,
For I know, tty sweetest daring.
It would ease my ev'rv pain :
I would place mine atm around thee
And look iuto thine eyes.

abstemiousness in his diet. While his
breakfast table is amply supplied with
variety for his guests, he contents him
self with a dish of boiled hominy and
milk. He uses neither tea nor coffee,
though they are always offered to others.
He writes chiefly in the morning, and
devotes the afternoon to out door exer
cises, and the evenings to social enjoy
ment ; for he is fortunately rich

His attachment to his home at Cedar

himself in the concerns of his neigh

beloved trees which rise above Cedar*

SSP A YOUNG LADY RETURN
IN (J to her country home, after a sojourn
of a few a. 'utbs in the city, was hardly
recognised b her friends. In place of a
course, rustic, flushed face, she. bad a soft
ruby complexion of almost marble smooth
ness, and instead of twenty throe she really
appeared but eighteen. Upon inquiry as
to the cause of so great a change, she plainly
told them that she used tho CIRCASSIAN
BALM, and considered it an invaluable
acquisition to any Lady's toilet. By its use
any lady or gentleman cau improve their
personal appearance an hundred fold. It is
simple in its combination, as Nature herself
is simple, yet unsurpassed in its efficacy in
drawing impurities from, also healing,
cleansing, and beautifying the skin and
complexion. By its direct action on the
euticle it draws from it all its impurities,
kindly healing the same, and leaving the
surface as Nature intended it should be,
clear, soft, smooth, and beautiful. Price

MECHANICAL WONDER !
The Hicks Steam Engine,
Manufactured by the Hicks Steam
Engine Co s, of Delaware.
BLANTON DUNCAN, President.
THOS R. SHARP, General Superintendent.
I BEG LEAVE TO CALL THE ATTEN
TION of the public to this wonderful
Steam Engine, whieb is cheaper, lighter,
less intricate, occupies less space, consumes
.css fuel than uuy other engine, aud is
superior in every other way, it being in
fact a double cut off Engine, without the
friction of a double set of valves with their
multiform attachments, and for its superior
merits was awarded the gold medal at the,
Maryland Institute Fair, in October, 1866,
over all other engines. This invention,
therefore, forms the most radical
and entire change in steam engines
which has occurred since the days of
Watts, being durable, accurate, and econ
omical in operation in space beyond all
comparison with the past, and at far less
original cost than ever before attained.
