A YOUNG LADY RETURN
ING to her country home, after a sojourn
of a few months in the city, was hardly
recognised b. her friends. In place of a
course, rustic, flushed face, she Lad a soft
ruby complexion of a!most marble smooth
ness, and instead of twenty three she really
appeared but eighteen. Upon inquiry as
to the cause of so great a change, she plainly
told them that she used the CIRCASSIAN
BALM, atfd considered it an invaluable
acquisition to any Lady’s toilet. By its use
any lady or gentleman can improve their
personal appearance an hundred fold. It is
simple in its combination, as Nature herself
is simple, yet unsurpassed in its efficacy in
drawing impurities from, also healing,
cleansing, and beautifying the skin and
complexion. By its direct action on the
cuticle it draws from it all its impurities,
kindly healing the same, aud leaving the
surface as Nature intended it should bo,
clear, soft, smooth, and beautiful. Price

ASTROLOGY.
The World Astonished
AT THE WONDERFUL REVELATIONB
MADE BY THE GREAT ASTROLOGIST,
Madame H. Perrigo.
She reveals secrets no mortal ever knew,
fche restores to happiness those who, from
doleful events, catastrophes, crosses in love,
loss of relations and friends, loss of money,
etc., have become despondent. She brings
together thoso long separated, gives infor
mation concerning absent friends or lovers,
restores lost or stolen property, tells you the
business you are best qualified to pursue
and in what you will be most successful,
causes speedy marriages and tells you the
very day you will marry, gives you the
name, likeness, and characteristics of the
person. She reads your very thoughts, and
by her almost supernatural powers, unveils
the dark and bidden mysteries of the future.
From the stars we see in the firmament —-
the melific stars that overcome or predomi
nate in the configuration—from the aspects
and positions of the planets and the fixed
stars in t)io heavens at the time of birth,
she deduces the future destiny of man. Fail

may never agaiu haye so favorable an op
portunity. Consultation fee, with likeness
and all desired information, sl. Parties

MECHANICAL WONDER !
The Hicks Steam Engine,
Manufactured by the Hicks Steam
Engine Cos., of Delaware,
BLANTON DUNCAN, President.
TIIOS R. General Superintendent.
I BEG LEAVE TO CALL THE ATTEN
TION of the public to this wonderful
Steam Engine, which is cheaper, lighter,
less intricate, occupies less space, consumes
less fuel than any other engine, and is
supAior in every other way, it being in
fact a double cut off Engine, without the
fricriun of a double set of valves with their
multiform attachments, and for its superior
merits was awarded the gold medal at the
Maryland Institute Fair, in October, 1866,
over all other engines. This invention,
therefore, forms the most radical
and entire change in steam engines
which has occurred since tho day3 of
Watts, being durable, accurate, and econ
omical in operation in space beyond all
comparison with the past, and at far less
original eost than ever before attained.
