COTTON—Yesterday there was but 1 ittledoing in
the market, purchasers asking a decline, anil holders
firm at former prices. The sales were ouly 214 bales
at 12V4C. ,

HAVANA, Feb. 6, 1850.
SUGAR.—The supplies of sugar have somewhat in
creased since ?lst January, although they are still quite
moderate. The demand for Spain and other parts of
Europe have become more active, and prices, are rather
higher. Planters aie veiy confident in their expecta
tions, and a further advance is anticipated. We quote
whites 9 a 10 rials; yellows 6 a 7 I ,fc rials;.browns 5V4 a
534 rials; Cucuruclios, 4bfc*a 5 rialL Sales of Musco
vados have been made at 4V<4 a 53$ rials, for inferior to
good. The grinding has been impeded by tlio late un
favorable weather, and it is feared that the yield will
-not come up to previous estimates.
MOLASSES.—is supported at 2 rials; 1400 casks
brought 2 l 4 rials.
COFFEE.—Is very scarce and has been sold at
a $13, for good and prime.
RICE.—Tfrfe sales of Rice comprised 1100 casks
Carolina at 9% a 93k f°r S 0()t b and 9 rialp for inferior,.
and210 bugs Valencia at 8, and 834 riuls. There
uro 300 casks Carolina in first hands.
‘LUMBER.—There have been further importsofW.
P. Luiuber to the extent of 600,000 feat. The sales
comprised about 1,800,000 feet lit $20 a $21 for
Hath and Mochias, $21 for sup rior Bangor, $18 a $19
for Portland and Eastport, aud$18 l /fc for Kennebunk.
There are now 400,000 for disposul of P. P. 850,000
feet came in, of which 200,000 feet were on eontract.
About 300,000 feet more sold at $21.for a fair cargo
of Wilmington stenm sawed; $24 and $26 fot Plank
w. 11 assorted: und $20 for Mobile of h suitable assort-
•jnent. There remain 350,000 feet ou hand.
Nearly 100,000 mo*ro Box Shooks arrived and the
article; is excessively dull. We quote 6 a rials
uoipipq.Uy, although it is very difficult to find buyers,
as th’e'a ippljea have been by fur to neavy Hhd» Shooks
also r^jilained dull.- Sales of empty casks were mude
at 22a 24 rials, but owing to large arrivals they are
dull and have been soldat 20 rials. Short R. I. Hoops
brought $36.

EXPORTS OF SUGAR For the month of Jnnu-
my 1850 from Havana to ports of the United States,
3835 boxes, against 6,344 in January 1849. Total ex
ports of Sugar for the month 23,626 boxes, against
J 6,903boxes in the same month Inst yeor. Total ex
ports of Sugar from Matanzas during the month 3,665
boxes, against 2869 boxes last year.
EXPORTS OF MOLASSES From Havana dur
ing the month of January 1850 to ports of the United
States, 2871 hhds. against 2785 hhds. last year. Total
exports of Molasses daring the month, 3437 hhds.
Against 2978 hhda. lust year. The exports of Molasses
from Matanzas to porta of the U. S. during the month
of January 1850, amounted to 9.599 hhds. against 6894
lidds. during the same month last year. Total exports
of Molasses from Matanzas during the month, 12,624
against 8325 last year. Exports of Molasses during
the month of January 1850, to ports of the U. S. from
Cardenas, 10,617 hhds. against 7Q32 hhds lost year,
Totul exports from Cardenas during the mouth 11,250
against 7,032 last year. Total amount of Molasses
exported to the U. 8. during the month of Janunry.

market was quiet yesterday, the transactions having
been limited to about 600 bales. Prices ranged from

FEB 11 —The sales of Cotton on Saturday were
limited to some 700 bales, at extreme ranging from 12
to 1234c. Planters are holding off for higher prices.
MADISON, GA , FEB 9 —But little cotton has
been offered in our market during the past week; the
demand has been good, at prices from 11 to 1134^
Planters are holding off for higher p rices.
ATLANTA, FEB. 9.—During the past week opera
tions in diHton have been limited, but yesterday the
market assumed a more lively appearance and Bales
were made at full prices. Extremes ranged from 11V4
to 12J/4.
