These plants have been long since used among

Experience has proven both the practicability and
usefblnesa of the penny Press. Within the few years
past all the Northern end Eastern cities, as well as
most of those South and West of us, have been sup
plied with papers of this description, whose small di
mensions enable their publishers to issue them at .a
price so low as to place them within the rdueb oi all,
and thus to make them the bestmediums for- the gen
eral diffusion of information on ,all • subjects bearing
upon the interests of community. By cheapening the
Press, all have been participants in ita benefits, while
the publishers and conductors, by a greatly increased
patronage, nave been made amply remunerated lor their
expenditure of capital and labor.
Believing that the growing prosperity of Savannah
authorizes, and that her interests demand the estab
lishment of a cheap commercial and news medium,
we have determined to publish the Daily Morning
Fetes as nearly as possible upon the plan of the penny
Press of the Northern cities.
The Morning Fetes will be emphatically a Com
mercial Fciespapcr, devoted to the diffusion of useful
information on all subjects of popular interest, and to
the advancement of City aod State interests, gener
ally ; preserving at all times a strictly neutral and
independent position in regard to Politics and Parties.
Arrangements have been made for giving the paper ail
tlie facilities enjoyed by the best Daily Papers, and
no pains will be spared to make it satisfactory in all ita
departments, and to give it the character of a res
pectable, useful, and reliable Journal.
In view of tlie great advantages which must result
to the citizens and business man from tlie establishment
of such a paper in Bavannab.we feel that we may ask
nnd safely conn’, upon a liberal support.
Terms—The Daily Morning Fetes will be issued
and served to subscribers at $4', per annum, payable
half yearly, inadvance; or,10 Cents perweek, pay

Aktificial Mode of Making Ice. ; —The

which Sir JohnF. W. Ilerchel lias put forth
