[Correspondence of the Daily Morning News.] Havana, 21st March 1850. Since our Communication of 7th inst. the supplies ol Sugar became more abundant, and Planters have shewn more disposition to sell, although without making any concessions of importance in prices. Shipments have proceeded with a fair amount of ac tivity, and more nas gone forwurd than last yea. - to the same period. At the moment, the transactions are restricted, owing the approach of the holidays, and there will be very little doing until they are over. The further course of prices will then depi nd in some measure, on the uext intelligence from Europe, al though as the requirements of the United States are likely to call for well sustained shipments, and the enquiry for Spain is increasing, we may expect to see business resumed with considerable animation. We place our quotations as follows :—Whites, good to fine, 9 a 10 rials ; ordinary White, 8} a 8) rials; Yellows, 6 r7} rs.; Browns, 5} a 5} rials, Cucu- ruchos, 4} a 5 rials. Muscovado Sugurs continue to go forward toFrnnce from hence and all the outports, and prices are sup ported, say at 5 a 5} for ordinary to middling, 5! a 6 rials for good to prime. Molasses is at 2 rials in the harbor, and 11 rials in the distant out-port. Coffee is quiet and still continues very scarce. We quote nominally $12 a 13} for middling to prime. IMPORTS.—The market is becoming quiet on ac count of the approaching holidays, and will continue so until they ui'e over. A cargo of Jerked Beef from New Barcelona sold at 6] rials, and two cargoes from Uuenos Ayres at 7j and 8} rials. There is" one left fur disposal. Lard has continued in small supply and the stuck is reduced to the equivalent of 361W kegs. We quote $11 a 12, barrels commanding a preference in price. Scarcely any Fish has arrived and we ruis : our quotations ; there ure 1700 quintals Cord on hand from Norway, which are in u sweated condition. The sales of Rice have embraced 660 casks ut 11 rials and 420 casks at 10$ rials, leaving 2 69 casks in first hands. There were ulso 150 bags Valencia placed at 9$ rials. The imports of W. P. Lumber only amounted to 40,- 000 feet Sacarap which were realised at $22}, leaving 50,000 feet from Portland for sale, which we named in our last Report This article is gradually recover ing itself from its extreme depression. A cargo ol' Pi P. steam-sawed from Georgetown was plac ed at $25 and 96,900 feet Timber from Suvauuah at $22. Three cargoes came in on contract The ar rivals of Box Shooks are again increasing, and about 60,000 were brought in since our last advices. The inquiry is at present quite restricted, and sales to a bmall extent were made at 6} rials on credit. Good new Molasses Ilhd. Shooks, arc in some request, hut few purchasers shew themselves for Muscovados. The last sales of Empty Cusks were at 22 a 24 rials, hut within the past few’ days a large quantity arrived.
