' ritlllS preparation is u Concentrated Extract, con- l turning all the Active Medical Properties of the ictinyza, (commonly known us Black Root,) and the Sty d in gin. or Queer’s Delight. These plants have beeli long used among our South ern Nbgroes, and recently by tffe Medfbal Profession, with the liappiest results, in cases of Chronic Rheu matism, Ulcers of long standing, und Secondary Syphilis. It is much superior to any prepartition of Sarsaparilla as an alterative, being more active and prompt in its operation on the system. These facts have induced the subscribers to present to the atten tion of Physicians a fluid extract prepared strictly ac cording to Chemical and Parmaceutical science, de void of all the feculent and inert parts of the roots, not doubting that it will supersede the unscientific and crude preparations hitherto used. Money Matters, Trade, &c. New York, April 6. The arrival of two steamers yesterday, with about three Million of California gold, gave a fresh impetus to the stock and money market. A slight* advance was obtained on nearly all descriptions of stock, and the money market became slightly easier. Loans on call have been negotiated a shade below our previous quotations. We quote : Loans on call secured by Government Stocks. 41 a per cent ; do on miscelleneous securities, 6 a”6£ per cent; prime 60 days paper, 6 a 6J- per cent; do longer dates, 7 to 9 per cent, and good names less known in the market, 9 a 12 per sent. The supply oi a paper is on the increase. The arrangements to anticipate a portion of the Mexican Indemnity must necessarily be delayed for advices from Me^icq, and when they are received, the time before the maturity of the instalment by treaty will be so short that the relief anticipated by many will not bfi realized. Business is a'little more brisk to-day, but none of the jobbers are overrun with trade. The dry goods market is steady but not firm. Savannah Exports, April 10.
