Romance in Real Life.—The Cincinnati
(i,z tie vouches for the truthfulness of the fol
lowing narration- Almut four years since, a
poor, miserable, intemperate woman wandered
about the streets of Cincinnati, accompanied
I, v 1V delicate but bright little daughter of ubojt
six years of age- They called together ut the
house of ti lady then living on Broadway, and
i.,,,[ char.tv- It "’as freely dispensed, und
the lady being pleased with the lovely appeal*
nncc of the cnild, insisted unun taking it into
keeping, which was granted. The mother
went away, a d wJs not hoard of until about
mie year afterwards, when the lady whoTmd
charge of ttie little girl, to whom she had now
become strongly aitaclied, was sent for to nn
obscure puit of the city. She there found the
woman in a filthy and dying condition, with just
strength enough to tell her that the child had
tin uncle, its father's brother, living some-where
,l„wn the river, hut where, she knew not; also
t :at there was no dishonor attached to its binh.
And the woman died. From that time until a-
haut a week since, the foster-mother of the lit
tle girl has made every effort to ascertain the
truth of the dying mother’s statement, when
-lie succeeded, and on Monday last the uncle
of the little girl came up from Louisville and
took the little Miss away. That little uvfor-
t'/nate is now the sale heir of an income of
fourteen hundred dollars per annum, hequeuth-

TEA CULTIVATION IN THE U. STATES.
H AVING received a small supply of TF.A NUTS,
collected at great expense of money mid labor,
ill the middle districts of China, from the most cele
brated Tea Plantations of tho Empire, I am prepared
to fulfil my engagements liy accommodating the pub
lic with a share of the Nuts received. My main ob
ject is to plant and cultivate ; hut as l am quite cer
tain that 1 have obtained, alter the labor of three
years, the best quality of Tea Nuts, I am disposed to
meet the wishes of the public, mid to share them
with others.—Tea Nuts gathered in the neighborhood
of Canton are scarcely worth cultivating, on uceount
of tho inferior quality of the Tna. it is obviously the
interest of the planter to submit to an increased ex
pense, to secure a superior quality oi Tea Nut, in es
tablishing a Tea Plantation, whether large or email.
In prosecuting this arduous undertaking, i am in
fact acting ns an agent for the benefit ot the public.
Neither the State, the public, or any individual, has
ever extended to me the aid of a single cent.
For convenience and security, the Nuts will he
pneked in tin boxes, und forwarded from Greenville,
S. C„ by such conveyance mid to such address as the
purchaser may direct, to any pin of the U. States.
TEA PLANTS—now on their passage trom China,
selected with a single eye to quulity, by a gentleman
of large experience in horticultural pursuits, and p r-
liaps better acquainted with the character of the Ten
Plant, than anv person in Europe or America—will
also he shared with those desirous of obtaining a
small supply.
A specification of the soil bestadnpted to the growth
of the plant, the mode of planting, cultivating, ic.
See.., will accompany each parcel.
Application should be made (post-paid) to the sub
scriber.

tpHIS preparation is a Concentrated Extract, con*
l taining all the Active Medical Properties of tlfe
dottyzu, (commonly known as Black Root,) and the
8tyllingiu, or Queen’s Delight.
These plants have been long used among our South
ern Negroes, and recently by the Medical Profession,
with the happiest results, in cases of Chronic Rheu
matism, Ulcers of long standing, and Secondary
Syphilis. It is much superior to any preparation of
Hurfiaparillu as an alterative, being more active aud
prompt in its operation on the system. These facts
have induced the subscribers to present to the atten
tion of Physicians a fluid extract prepared strictly ac
cording to Chemical and Parmaceutical science, de
void of all the feculent and inert parts of the roots,
not doubting that it will supersede the unscientific and
crude preparations hitherto used.
