Mill’s Equestrian Statue of General Jackson, upon which lie has been at work some two years in Washington, will be comple ted during the summer. The sales of the week do not exceed 6000 boles,viz- on Saturday 1200, Monday 100. Tuesday 2000, Wed nesday 1000, Thursday 1200, and on Friday 800. The tone of the Manchester mark* et lor some days past has been gradually improving, especially for yarn mid tine goods. ° The money market continues easy and the bullion is still Increasing in the bunk. It now exceeds 701 million pounds. Consols have fluctuated for the last week from 951 to 90®, closing on Friday ut 96J for money and ac- .count. American stocks contiuue firm and in good request. Throughout the week succeeding tile departure of the last steamer, our Cotton market coutmued in a dull and inactive state—with prices rather in favor of buyers. This was succeeded hy a better demand, with more steadiness in prices. On the day preced ing the arrival of the Canada, in the anticipation thut tlie uitvices by her would show a farther large de crease in the receipts nt tlie ports, which, being "con firmed, an active speculative inquiry sprung up on tlie 2d instant. Buyers buying manifested no disposi tion to purchase beyond their immediate wants, and trade in Manchester continuing dull all activity had ceased, the market closing quietly, with a strong de sire on tho part of the holders to realize. The sales of the week ending on the 28th ult, were 22,4211 bales, of which speculators tuok 2,620, and ex porters 1,890 bales. Those for the week ending this morning are estimated at 42,880 bales of widen speculators have taken 14,600 und exporters 3,680 bales. The American description sold consists of 17,350 ; Uplands at 5J u 7j ; New Orleans, 5} u 8 ; 4240 Mobile and Alabama at 51 a 7 and 270 Sea Island ut 10 a 16 per lb. The total stock of Cotton in this port is called 505, 000 bales, ot wnieh 320,200 were American; against a stock at this period last year of 440,000, of which 290,000 were American. Indian Coni having been in rather more demand, prices have advanced one shilling per quarter, and liiuy now be quoted at 27s (id a 28s per quarter for white, and 27s u 27s 6d to 28s per quurter for yellow, and 27s a 27 6d per quarter for mixed and yellow. Baltimore and Philadelphia flour has also advanced one shilling per barrel, the former being quoted at 22s, the latter at 22s 6d per barrel. Western Canul flour, 18s o 21s ; old sour, 20s per barrel, Indian Com Meal, 12s» 13s per barrel, nominal. Weliut 4s 6d a 6s per 70 lbs. the market closing quietly.
