Love’s breath is in the vernal breeze That funs the cheek on twilight eves— Love's breath exhales from out the rose, When morn unfolds its crimson leaves— Love's breath is in the murmuring sound That o'er the bubbling fountain rings— Love's breath is in the little song The little bird to nature sings. II. 'Love's breath from yonder starry worlds Comes down in her, pure and bright— Love’s breath is in the winter’s storm, And in the summer breeze of night— Warm looks of love from nature’s face Allure me to her beating heart— Lost in her fond and pure embrace, My breast forgets its aching smart. III. ' Jidve's breath—it is God’s holy breath That unto thee, my heart, is given— Whose gentle impulse, sweet and pure. Doth sottly raise thee up to heaven I— There shall that earthly plant put forth Eternal (lowers, that ne’er shall fall. Ah ! I shall love !—and love!—and love!— Since love is but the life of all I Interesting Discovery in France.—A Berlin letter, of The 4t(t March, in the St. Louis Re publican, says : Quite an interesting discov -ry lias just been made near the village of Ormoy, in Fiance! A steep hill, entirely covered with blocks of free stone, which hud never been explored, having been purchased by a Mi. Renard, he thought he would try and make some use of the im mense stones. After having blown up several lie attacked the largest of ud. When it broke by the force of the powder, it exposed the en hance to a cavern solidly constructed, ip the r-ntre of which were two skeletons, dressed in complete suits of bronzed armor, conical casque, round buckler, ornamented in the centre, with un incrustation of gold, and belts formed of plates of silver, incrustcd with gold pad en amelled. The quivers and ends of the lances, also in bronze, are intact. Near the stone which served as a pillar to those two skeletons "ere found six immense vases of black earth en-wire very thick, and decorated with myth ological figures painted white with some por tions of sky blue. In iho smallest vase was a piece of gold leaf, very thin, about three inch es long, on which was traced the Inscription of a hundred and fifty small characters absolutely identical with those of the Cellcbreian medals. IW A Coin o f the English Commonwealth!— A few days since some boys playing upon the Sluice Bunk at Burl.ngtou, N. j., found n piece of old silver coin which upon examina tion proved to be one of Ouvwt Cromwell's coinage. It has upon the face, the head of Oliver with the motto, “Ui.ivekvs Dei gra ; Axgi.ije Sco. Et Hib. I’rotector,” and on tnu reverse. “Bax Ov-eritvr Bello,’’ en circling the British Lion holding, in his em brace a Sli.eld in which there are four Qtiiu- ternions, two having tlte cross of St. George, «no the cross of St. Andrew and the Irish H\rp. The name of the coiner is on the face, “'Tho: Sinons, or Synons.”—There is no dute upon the coin, but we infer that it was coined previous to 1057, for the coins of that year have the emblem of Royalty—the crown—-over the Shield, and the Lion rampant upon tlte small shield In the centre. In this piece the latter is bunk. Previous to 1657 the coins of Crom well have his family coat of arms, which is that found in the piece spoken of. How this piece came where it wus found can only he matter of speculation. — in his neck he fell into tlte wale-, u recovered so far us to get to the shore, and ° s ma lvmg towards a saw mill, pear which he Pursued by Snow, who, when near I im. s ° drew up his gun, and snapped it at I jm; ca P burst and ho tbpn pursuetjjiim with his K n ’ and «'™ck at his head with the breech. Snow’s rifle came in contact with that of the wounded man, and the breach was broken. At this time the attention of-a man at the mill near by, was attracted to the spot by the noise ; when Snow found that he was discovered, he turned and fled. The neighborhood wus ral lied, and the villains pursued, taken, find brought to Hennepin. We learn that tlte wounded man was still living, and hopes are entertained of bis recovery. We liuvo heard several rumors us to the motive wlii h led to the act: one is, that the object, of the,sc who attempted tlte murder, was to obtain money.— Peoria Champion. April. 19 (EtF*- 1 he Jacksonville, (Fla.,) News com menting upon Billy Bowleg’s refusal to emi grate, says: Wo now have no hope except from the prompt adoption of the rewind system. If the General Government do not adopt this plan without much deluv tlte State Government ought to do it. On this plan 60 to 100,000 dol Ittrs will remove every Indian in less thun three months. But even if it cost double the amount, it would siill bn a g tod bargain for the State.— Her millions of acres of land would be doubled in value the day the Indians leave the country, to sny nothing of the general benefits that will accrue to the State. Attempt to Kill.—Wo are informed that u most deliberate attempt at cold blooded mur- erwus made, on Tuesday of last week, in tin; vicinity ot Caledonia, l utnam county. The circumstances, as we have heard them reluted, w iae that two men, one by the name of Baston sad tlientharu youth about eighteen years aid, aimed Snow, enticed their intended victim, 'yiosn nomo w > have not leafned, to go with Wt" 1 t0 , s ' l00t Jacks near tlte Illinois river, ben tluyr had arrived at a small pond they r u r ’~ to * nto 1,1 P °f 11 fee Li llc ,. la f ‘ a ,lje water, projecting a 1 considera te distance into the pond, telling him that • -re would he the best place to kill the ducks, a .na feat they would go round the edge, and ■moot from other directions. When Mr. ,. drived at the top of the tree, Bastoo drew l* S un and fired at him.
