City nnd County of New York, ss—Andrew Hun ter, of said city, being duly sworn, doth depose and say, that he was engaged ill superintending the con struction of a sewer in 30th street, between the 6th and 8th avenues, and in hoisting up a large stone of nearly a ton weight, the fall gave way and precipita ted deponent, with the stone, into the sewer, a distance of over fifteen feet, striking him on the back and shoulder, which so severely jammed and bruised de ponent, thathe was taken up insensible and thought to be killed.
