City and County of New York, ss—Andrew Hun ter, of said city, being duly sworn, doth depose and suy, that he was engaged in superintending the con structionof a sewer in 30th Btreet, between the 0th and 8th avenues, and in hoisting up a largo stone of nearly a ton weight, the fnil gave way and precipita ted deponent, with the stone, into the sewer, a distance of over fifteen feet, striking him on the back and shoulder, which so severely jammed and bruised de ponent, that he wns taken up insensible nnd thought to he killed. Dr. Tobias was immediately sent tor. ami applied the Venetian Liniment, which so revived this deponent that in a few minutes he wns able to speak ; and by the constant use of this most valuable preparation, he was sulliciently recovered to attend to his business ns usual, in the short space offourdays, to the astonishment of all who witnessed the accident.
