City and County JL New York, ss—Andrew Hun ter, of said city, being duly sworn, doth depose and say, that he whs engaged lit superintending the con struction of a sewer in 30th street, between the Gth Rnd 8th avenues, nnd in hoisting up a largo stone of nearly a ton weight, the fall gave way and precipita ted deponent, witli the stone, into the sewer, a distance of over fifteen feet, striking him on the hack nnd shoulder, which so severely jammed and bruised de ponent, that he was taken up insensible and thought to bo killed. Dr, Tobins was immediately sent lor, and applied the Venetian Liniment, which so revived this deponent thnt in a few minutes he wns able to speak ; and by the constant use of this most valuable preparation, lie wns sufficiently recovered to attend to his business ns usual,in the short space of lour days, to the astonishment of all who witnessed the accident.
