floninoiinil Fluid Ex-tract of Conyza mid
1 Stylllngin.
rillllS ]ireparation is a Concentrated Extract, con-
l trdning all the Active Medicnl Properties of tho
Conyza, (commonly known as Black Hoot,) and the
Siyllingia, or Queen's Delight.
These plants have been long used among our South
ern Negroes, and recently by the Medical Profession,
with tho happiest results, incases of Chronic llheu-
nmtism, Ulcers of long standing, and Secondary
Syphilis. It is much superior to any preparation of
Sarsaparilla as an alterative, being more active and
prompt in its operation on tho system. These facts
have induced the subscribers to present to the atten
tion of Physicians a fluid extract prepared strictly ac
cording to Chemical and Parmaccutical science, de
void of all the feculent and inert parts of tho roots,
not doubting flint it will supersede the unscientific und
crude preparations hitherto used.
Price—$1 per bottle, or six bottles lor $5.

rpHE Louisville Journal says: “ Dr. Rogers’ Liver-
J. wort and Tar not only gives immediate relief
in Coughs and Colds, but, from the testimony of men
of the highest standing here and elsewhere, 'it is mak
ing some very remarkable cures in'.Consumption."'
The Railway Register adds : “ Wediavo heard it sta
ted by persons of great respectability v who have used
this medicine, that it is one of the most remarkable
medicines of the age, for Coughs. Isolds, Influenza,
Bronchitis, Asthma, Pain in the Sit^iVnd Breast, Spit
ting of Blood, Whooping Cough, arid all Lung Com
plaints : which, if neglected, usually terminate in Con
sumption; and the certificates atiuohed to the advor-
tisementa would seem to justify tliU statement.”

This article is now universally acknowledged to be
tl\e most healing and efficient application for diseased
or decayingJungSjOr any portion of the fleshy or mus
cular parts of the human body. ItH- medicinal and
preservative qualities w'ereunderstood by the Egyp
tians in the curly ngeR of the world, jufd no doubt now
exists among scientific men, that thejireparation used
in the embalmment of bodies, was composed princi
pally of this ingredient In later ages it was found to
be in universal use among the uborigUies of America,
and at this day it is their principal, bifid, in fact only
medicine for an unsound state of Che lungs, or any
approach to it. Those who are acquainted with the
history of this hardy race of men, know that a death
from Consumption is unknown anlong them! The
medical faculty in all countries appear to have be
come aware of the grout healing properties of this
article, and are now introducing it in their practice.
Dr. Buclion, of England: Dr. Crichton, of St. Peters
burg ; Dr. La Pricure, of Paris; and the distinguished
Dr. Cooper, have been in the habit of combining it
with other articles in their prescriptions, und with
entire success.

TEA CULTIVATION IN THE U."STATES.
^ .. , Jt r~~, prepared
to tulfil iny engagements by occommoduting tho pub
lic with a share of the Nuts received. My main ob
ject is to plant and cultivate; but as I am quite cer
tain that 1 have obtained, after tlie labor of three
years, the best quality of Tea Nuts, I nin disposed to
meet the wishes ot the public, and to share them
with others.—Tea Nuts gathered in the neighborhood
of Canton are scarcely, worth cultivating, on account
ol the tnicrior quality of the Tea. It is obviously the
interest of the planter to submit to an increased ex
pense, to secure a superior quality of Tea Nut, in ca-
tablisliing a Tea Plantation, whether large or small.
ln prosecuting this arduous undertaking, I am in
fact acting as an agent for tho bonetit of tho public.
Neither the State, the public, or any individual, has
ever extended to me the aid of a single Xent.
For convenience nnd security, the Ntits will bo
packed in tin boxes, and forwarded from Grenville,
S. C., by such conveyance und to such addres»*s the
purchaser may direct, to any part of the TI. States,.
