City nnd County of New York, ss—Andrew Ilun ter, of said city, being duly sworn, doth depose and say^thathe was engaged m superintending the con struction of a sewer in 30th street, between the 6th and 8th avenues, and in hoisting up a large stone of nearly a ton w eight, tho fall gave way nnd precipita ted deponent, with the stone, into the sewer, a distance of over fifteen feet, striking him on tho hack nnd shoulder, which eo severely jammed and bruised de ponent, thathe was taken up insensible nnd thought to be killed. Dr. Tobins was immediately sent for, and applied the Venetian Liniment, which so revived this deponent that in u few minutes he was able to speak ; nnd by the constant use of this most valuable preparation, he was sufficiently recovered to attend to his business as usual,in tho short space of four days, to the astonishment of all who witnessed the accident.
