T HE Louisville Journal says: “Dr,Rogers’ Liver wort and Tar not only, gives immediate relief in Coughs and Colas, but, from the testimony of men of tho highest standing hore and elsewhere, it is mak ing some very remarkable cures in Consumption.” The Railway Register adds; “We have hoard it sta ted by persons of great respectability, who have used this medicine, that it is one of the most remarkable medicines of the uge, for Coughs, Colds, Influenza, Bronchitis, Abtlima, Pain in the Side and Breast, Spit ting of Blood, Whooping Cough, and all Luug Com plaints ; which, if neglected, usually terminate in Con sumption ; and the certificates attached to the adver tisements would seem to justify this statemeut.” Liverwort. This plant has for many years been found to lie ol singular virtuo in the cure cf affections of the Liver. More recently it was ascertained that it possessed great power in arresting bleeding at the lungs, coughs of a chronic character, etc., and of essential service in all diseases of a pulmonary character. Tttr. This orticle is now universally acknowledged to bo the most heaiing and efficient application for diseused or decayinpjungs.or any portion of the fleshy or mus cular parts of the human body. Its medicinul and preservative qualities wets understood by the Egyp tians in the early ages of the world, and no doubt now exists among scientific men, thntthc preparation used in the embalmment of bodies,' was composed princi pally of this Ingredient. In later ages it was found to bo in universal nseamong the aborigines of America, and at this day it ir> their principal, and, in fact, only medicine for an unsound state ot the lungs, or any approach to it. Those who are acquainted with the history of this hardy race of men, know that a death from Consumption is unknown among them! The medical faculty in all countries appear to have be come aware lif the great healing properties of this article, and are now introducing it in their practice.
