flllHS medicine is ottered to the public under the
I assurance that there is no article in existence
having stronger claims to their consideration Being
compounded by a regular HRAIH’ATE el'JEF
FERSON COUjF.OE, Philadelphia, and a practis
ing Physician of TWENTY YEARS STANDING in
Philadelphia, his long experience has confirmed him
in the opinion that, a compounded medicine was re
quired to prevent and remedy the debilitation pro
duced by residing in low mins malic cli mates, and to
counteract the prostrating inlluences of the many
nervous disorders with which the human family are
alllicted.
DU. ALLEN is a well known physician, and has
used the above medicine in his practice lor twelve
year with the most astonishing effect, having tested
its qualities in above N
g FIVE THOUSAND CASKS.
No medicine ever received more flattering recom
mendation from physicians of eminent standing than
has boon bestowed on this.
Tlmiisninls fire now kii tie ring from that
most dreadful complaint, the Dyspepsia, when a sin
gle bottle id’ Dr. Allen's Vegetable Cam pound would
have the olfect of removing]all those distressing
feelings attendant on that most debilitating disease.

A safe and certain care for Consumption of the Luigs,
Spitting of Blood, Coughs, Colds, Asthma, Vain in
the side., Bronchitis, Whooping Cough, and all Vul-
vionanj Affections.
Opinions of tlie Press.
riMlE Louisville Journal says: “Dr. Rogers’ Liver-
■l wort and Tar not only gives immediate relief
in Coughs and Colds, hut, ijroni the testimony of men
of the highest standing here mid elsewhere, it is mak
ing some very remarkable cures in Consumption.”
The. Railway Register adds : “ We have heard it sta
ted by persons of great respectability, who have used
this medicine, that it is one of the most remarkable
medicines of the age, for Coughs, Colds, Influenza,
Bronchitis, Asthma, Pain in the Side and Breast, Spit
ting of Blood, Whooping Cough, and all Lung Com
plaints ; which, if neglected, usually terminate in Con
sumption; and the certificates attached to the adver
tisements would Beem to justify this statement.”
JLiver wort*
This plant has for many years been found to be oi
singular virtue in the cure cf nft'eetionsof the Liver.
More recently it was ascertained that it possessed
great power in arresting bleeding at the lungs, coughs
of a chronic character, etc., And of essential service in
all diseases of a pulmonary f character.
Tar.
This article is now universally acknowledged to be
the most healing and efficient application for diseased
or decaying lungs,dr any portion of the fleshy or inns
eular part? of the human body. Its medicinal and
preservative qualities were understood by the Egyp
tians in the early ages of the world, and no doubt now
exists among scientific men, that the preparation used
in the embalmment of bodies, was composed princi
pally of this ingredient. In later ages it was found to
hr* in universal uscamong the aborigines of America,
and at this day it is tlieir principal, and, in fact, only
medicine for an unsound state of the lungs, or any
approach to it. Those who are acquainted with tin'
history of this hardy race of men, know that a death
from Consumption is unknown among them! The
medical faculty in all countries appear to have be
come aware of the great healing properties of this
article, and are now introducing it in their practice.
Dr. Buchan, of England; Dr. Crichton, of Ht. Peters
burg; Dr.LaPrieure,of Paris; and the distinguished
Dr. Cooper, have been in the habit of combining it
with other articles in their prescriptions, and with
entire success.
Beware, of Counterfeits and base Imitations !
