ter, of said citv, being July sworn, doth depose and
uy, thatlie w..s engaged in superintending the con
struction of a sewer in 30th sti.a’t. between the 6th
and 8th avenues, and in hoisting up a large stone of
nearly a ton weight, the lull gave way and precipita
ted deponent, with the stone, into the sewer, a distance
of over fifteen feet, striking him on the back and
shoulder, which so severely jammed and bruised de-
pi nert, tliathe was taken up insensible and thought
to be killed. Dr. Tobias was immediately sent for,
and applied the Venetian Liniment, which so revived
this deponept that in a few minutes he was able to
speak ; and by the constant use of this most valuable
preparation, lie was sullicieut'y recovered to attend
