ter, of said city, being duly sworn, doth depose mid
soy, that he was engaged m superintending the con
struction of a sewer in 3Uth street, between the 6th
trad 8th avenues, mid in hoisting up a large stone of
nearly a ton weight, the full gave way mid precipita
ted deponent, with the stone, into the sewer, a distance
of over fifteen feet, striking him on the buck and
shoulder, which so severely jammed and bruised de
ponent, thatlie was taken up insensible and thought
to be killed. Dr. Tobias was immediately sent tor,
mid applied the Venetian Liniment, which so revived
this deponent that in a few minutes he was able to
speak ; and by tho constant use of this most valuable
preparation, he was sufficiently recovered to attend
to his business as usual,in the short space of four days,
to the astonishment of ull who witnessed the accident'
