The “North British Review” owes its establishnioff
to the last great ecclesiastical movement in Scotland'
and is not ultra in its views on any one of the grace
department of human knowledge ; it wns originally
edited by Dr. Chalmers, nnd now. since his death:
is conducted by his son-in-law, Dr. Hanna, associate!
with Sir David Bi ewster. Its literary character iad
tlie very highest order. The “ Westminster,”thong*
reprinted under that title only, is published in Eng'
land under the title of the “ Foreign Quarterly m>
Westminster,” it being in fact a union of the two
Reviews formerly published and reprinted under re
parate title. It was, therefore, the advantage by this
combination, of uniting in one work the beet^fcature
ot both as heretofore issued. .
