MEDICINES.
THE GREATEST DISCOVERY OF THE
AGE.
D R. TOBIAS’S VENETIAN LINIMENT is war
ranted to be superior to any other medicine yet
known for the cure of
IVcns, Jhirii.i, Coughs, Lumbago, Headache, Dysen
tery, Chilblains, Sea Sickness, Chapped, Hands,
Old Sores. Croup, Swellings, IVaHs, Hemorrhage,
Cramp, Chronic Rheumatism, Weakness in the
Limbs, Cholera,""Vomiting, Cats, Bruises, Cold
Feet, Corns, Tooth-Ache, Sore Throats, Palpitation
of the Heart, Ac.
This Liniment was the discovery of the late Dr. So
lomon, of Gilead House, Liverpool, a graduate of the
College of Surgeons in Dublin, uud was used with
great success throughout England during a period of
15 years, since which it has become the property of
the present proprietor, the grandson of the fate doc
tor; and during the time it has been introduced into
this country over 1000 certificates have been received,
speaking in the highest terms of its pain releiving
qualities ; and to prove what it is represented to b£
every agent is ordered to refund the money should it
fail to give relief when used according to the drections.
A lew certificates are given.
Certftctlc oi Mrs. L. I. Cohen.
Having used in my iumiiy, with the most complete
success, Dr. Tobias’s Venetian Liniment for croup,
aough, hcadfthe pain in tho limbs, sore throat, Ac,, I
feel it no more than an act of justice to the Doctor to
give this certificate ; and the speedy cures it lias affec
ted, have been most astonishing. 1 am never without
a bottle of it ill my house, and am sure no one will re
gret trying it.
SOPHIA COHEN, 261 Ninth street.

Dr.Tobias—8ir : One oi my children was severely
attacked with croup. I used your Venetian Lini

house. 1 also consider it a most certain remedy for
scalds Rtid bruises, having thoroughly tested it for the

ODD’S MAGAZINE AND THE
.. .. QUARTERLY REVIEWS.—Owing
iw me jmu; revolutions nnd counter-revolutions nmons
the nations of Europe, which have followed onch
other in such quick succession, and of which “ thi
cud is not yet," the lending periodicals of Great Brit
an have become invested with u degree of interest
hitherto unknown. They occupy a middle ground
between the hasty, disjointed, and necessarily impel*
feet records of the newspapers, and the elaborate
and ponderous treatises to he furnished by tho hiato-
rian at a future day. The American Publishers, there
fore, deem it proper to call renewed attention tc
these Periodicals, and the very low prices at which
they are offered to subscribers. The following ifl
their list, viz :

THE EDINBURGH REVIEW, 9
THE NORTH BRITISH REVIEW,
THE WESTMINSTER REVIEW,

BLACKWOOD'S EDINBURGH MAGAZINE.
In these periodicals are contained the views mod

the three grout parties in England—Tory, 'VWg
and Radical—Blackwood” and the “ Loudon
Quarterly,” are Tory; tho “Edinburgh Review.
Whig; nnd the “ Westminster‘Review," Liberal.
'Pile “ North British Review” owes its establishment
to the last great ecclesiastical movement in Scotland,
and is not ultra in its views on any one of the grund
department of human knowledge ; it was originWJy
edited by Dr. Chalmers, and now. since bis dentil;
is conducted by his son-in-law, Dr. Hanna, associated
with Sir David Bieweter. Its literary character of
the very highest order. The “ Westminster,”thongb
reprinted under that title only, is published inLu?*
land under the title of the “Foreign Quarterly and
Westminster,” it being in fact a union of the two
Reviews formerly published and reprinted under??'
pnrate title. It was, therefore, the advantage by thii*
combination, of uniting in one work the best^feature*
of both as heretofore issued. . ,
