THE GREATEST DISCOVERY OF THE
AGE.
D R. TOBIAS’S VENETIAN LINIMENT is war
ranted to be superior to any other medicine yet
known for the cure of
liens, Burns, Caught, Lumbago, Headache, Ihieni-
tenj, Chilblains, Sea Sickness, Chapped Hands,
Old Sores, Croup, Swellings, Warts, Hemorrhage,
Cramp, Chronic IlhcnmiUism. Weakness in the
Limbs, Cholera, Vomiting, Cuts, Bruises, Cold
Feet, Corns, Tooth-Aclic, Sore Throats, Palpitation
of the Heart, l)C. .
This Liniment was the discovery of the late Dr. So
lomon, ol' Gilead House, Liverpool, a graduate of the
College of Surgeons in Dublin, nud was used witli
great success throughout England during a period of
5 years, since which it has become the property of
the present proprietor, the grandson of the late doc-
ter; and during the time it has been introduced iuto
this country over 1000 certificates have been received,
speaking in the highest terms of its pain releiving
qualities ; and to prove wliat it is represented to he,
every agent is ordered to refund the money should it
fail to give relief when used according to the drectiuns.
A few certificates are given.
Ccrtficate oi Sirs. L. I. Cohen.
Having used in my family, with the most complete
ceess, Dr. Tobias’s Venetian Liniment for croup,
nough, headache pain in the limbs, sore throat, <fcc„ I
feel it no more than an act of justice to the Doctor to
give this certificate ; and tiie speedy cures it has affec
ted, have been most astonishing. 1 am never without
a bottle of it in my house, and am sure no one will re
gret trying it.
SOPHIA COHEN, 261 Ninth street.
Certificate of Mrs. W. E. Cornish.
Dr. Tobias—Sir: One of my children was severely
attacked with croup. I used your Venetinn Lini
ment which gave immediate relief, and I really think
it was the menus of saving my child’s life. Under
no consideration would I he without a bottle in my
house, i also consider it a most certain remedy for
scalds and bruises, having thoroughly tested it for the
same.
SARAH CORNISH,354 Bowery,
City and County _!' New York, ss—Andrew Hun
ter, of said citv, being duly sworn, doth depose and
say, that he was engaged in superintending the con
struction of a sewer in 30th street, between the 6th
and 8th avenues, and in hoisting up a large stone of
nearly a ton weight, the fall gave way and precipita
ted deponent, with the stone, into the sewer, a distance
of over fifteen feet, striking him on the back and
shoulder, which so severely jammed and bruised de
ponent, tliathc was taken up insensible and thought
to be killed. Dr. Tobias was immediately sent lor,
and applied the Venetian Liniment, which so revived
this deponent that in a few minutes he wa able to
speak ; and by the constant use of this most valuable
preparation, he was sufficiently recovered ro attend
to his business as usual,in the shortspace of fourdays,
to the ustonishmeiit of all who witnessed the accident.

IiACKWOOD’B MAGAZINE AND THE
BRITISH QUARTERLY RE VIE YV 8.-0 wing
to the late revolutions and counter-revolutions among
the nations of Europe, which have followed each
other in such quick succession, and of which “ tk
end is not yet” the leading periodicals of Great Brit*
a’nhav'? become invested with a degree of interest
hitherto unknown. They occupy a middle ground
between the hasty, disjointed, and necessarily imper
fect records of the newspapers, and the elaborate
and ponderous treatises to bo furnished by the histo
rian at a future day. Tiie American Publishers, there
fore, deem it proper to call, renewed attention to
these Periodicals, and the very low prices at which I
they are ottered to subscribers. The following is-1
their list, viz ; 1
THE LONDON QUARTERLY RE VIE IV,
THE EDINBURGH REVIEW.i
THE NORTH BRITISH REVIEW,
THE WESTMINSTER REVIEW\
AND ,
BLACKWOOD'S EDINBURGH MAGAZINE.
In these periodicals are contained the views mod L
erately, though clearly und firmly expressed of I
the three great parties in England—Tory, Whig I
and Radical— “ Blackwood" nnd the “ London J
Quarterly,” are Tory; the “ Edinburgh Review.
Whig: and the “ YVestminstcr Review,” Liberal.
The “ North British' Review” owes its establishment J
to the last great ecclesiastical movement in Scotland. J
and is not ultra ill its views on any one of thp |
department of human knowledge ; it. was originally
edited by Dr. Chalmers, nnd now’, since hisdeatn.
is conducted by his son-in-law, Dr. Hanna, associated
with Sir David Bi eweter. Its literary character is ot
the very highest order. The “ Westminster,"thong#
reprinted under that title only, is published in Hi- 1
land under the title of the “ Foreign Quarterly w
Westminster,” it being in fact a union oi the n
Reviews formerly published and reprinted unaer . '
pai ate title. It was, therefore, the advantage by m
combination, of uniting in one work the bestjeatu
ot both as heretofore issued. . v v
.The above Periodicals are reprinted in New i •
immediately on their arrival by the British Bteon , 1 '
in a beautiful clear type, on fine white paper, _ .
faithful copies of the originals. Blackwoods * ,
azine being an exact fac simile of the Edinburgh»
