say, thathe w..o engaged m superintending the con
struction of a sewer ill 30th street, between the tith
and titli avenues, and in hoisting up a large stone ot
nearly a ton weight, the fall gave way and precipita
ted deponent, with the stone, into the sewer, a distance
of over fifteen feet,striking him on the back and
shoulder, which so severely jammed and bruised de
ponent, that he was taken up insensible and thought
to he killed. Dr. Tobias was immediately sent for,
and applied the Venetian Liniment, which so revived
this deponent that in a few minutes he ivn able to
speak ; nnd by the constant use of this most valuable
preparation, he was sufficiently recovered to attend
to his business as usual,in the short space of fourdays.
