NEED —TO
. JacHABERS OF GARDEN SEEDS. It Is
self evident, that unloss the seeds which we may
sow, are good In nil respects, it will he lolly to ex
poet favorable results—either we shnll be disappoint
ed by their not vegetating, or what Is still more
Vexatious, find, alter careful culture, that the variety
is worthlessHow many from their own experi
ence can estimate the annoyance of such an event I
Conscious of the room for improvement, and assured
that the seeds man who should justly be entitled to
confidence, would receive ample support, tho foun
ders ol tho establishment, now coniucted by the
subscriber, started more than half n century aco.
with the determination to sell nothing but what was
worthy of credit; and that they might the more cer
tainly accomplish their object, resolved to produce,
as fur as passible, the seeds which they should vend;
experience having shown them t >nt most imported
seeds could not be relied on, much less thoee casual
ly collected, and sold to dealers.—The result was a9
they had foreseen :—unlimited public confidence.
The concern thus conducted, has been grmiually on
larged, and is now the most extensive of its kind in
America ; supplying not only much of the demand

Late Professor in Cincinnati Electric Medical College,
Mr. A." L. Scovill: Iiowcverreluctsntl have been
to permit my name to be attached to patent medi
cine, 1 consider it a duty to the community to state
that in three cases of incipient consumption, viz : Miss
Belt, Miss Burger, mid Air. H. II. Cox. one of the Ci
ty Council, that Dr. Rogers’ Liverwort and Tar ope
rated more like a specific than any other remedy, that
I ever used. One of the cases, viz ; Miss Hell, pro
nounced by several Physicians to be laboring under
the Inst stago of Scrofulous Consumption. She is
now in good health, from the use of a few bottles of
the above syrup. HIRAM COX, M. D.
Cincinnati, Jan. 25,1847.
From the Hon. Judge Henry Morse.
Mr. A. L. Scovill: I utn well acquainted with
Dr. Hiram Cox and his practice, he having been my
family physician lor many years, tiril can cheerfully
sav that 1 have us much confidence in hit skillas any
man living. IIENRY MORSE.
Cincinnati, Nov. 8th, 1817.
From Willlnin Hlclinrils, HI. I>.
I feel constrained from a sense of duty to make
the following statement, conscious that it may appear
unprofessional. Mr. Charles Wade, ottliiscity, was
quite low with Pulmonary Consumption, fqr which I
hud been treating with less than u uni success. At
his request, and that of his friends, 1 permitted him
to try Dr. Rogers' Liverwort and Tar ; arid I must
confess thatits effects were really surprising. After
using the second bottle my visits were discontinued,
and lie was soon restored to health. I do con-
sciemi'in-ly recommend my brother practitioners to
prescribe this n medy in all pulmonary complaints
which butHc the ordinary inode of treatment.
