sow, are good In all respects, it will ho folly to ex
pect favorable results—either we shall bo disappoint
ed by their not vegetating, or what la still more
vexatious, find, after careful culture, that the variety
is worthlessHow many from their own experi
ence can estimate the annoyance of such an event 1
Conscious of the room for Improvement, and assured
that the seeds-man who should Justly be entitled to
oonfidence, would receive ample support, the foun
ders oi the establishment, now coniuctcd by the
subscriber, started raora than half a century ago.
with the determination to sell nothing but what was
worthv of credit; and that they mlghtthn more cer
tainly accomplish their object, resolved to produce,
as far as possible, the seeds which they should vend;
experience having shown them that most imported
seeds could not bo relied on, much less thoie casual
ly collected, and told .tp dealers.—The result was as
they had foreseen :—unlimited public confidence.
The concern thus conducted, has been gradually en

America; supplying not only much of the demand
in the Middle, Western and Southern States, hut ex

QOHN AFLOAT,
nounced by several Physicians to be laboring under
the last stage of Scrofulous Consumption. She is
now in good health, from the use of a fere bottles of
the above syrup. IliRAM COX, M. D.
Cincinnati, Jan. 25,1847.
From tlie Hon. Judge Henry Morse.
Mr. A. L. Scovill: I am well acquainted with
Dr. HirRin Cox and his practice, he having heen iny
family physician tor many years, and can cheerfully
sav that I have ns much confidence in his skill ns any
mini living. HENRY MORSE.
Cincinnati, Nov. 8th, 1847.
From William Hleliards; M. D.
1 feel constrained from a sense of duty to make
the following statement, conscious that it mny appear
unprofessional. Mr. Charles Wade, ol this city, was
quite low with Pulmonary Consumption, tor which 1
had been treating with less than usual bucccss. At
his request, and that of his friends, I permitted him
to try Dr. Rogers’Liverwort ami Tar; and I must
confess that its effects were really surprising. After
using the second bottle my visits were discontinued,
anil he was soon restored to health. I do con
scientiously recommend my brother practitioners to
prescribe this ri medy in all pulmonary complaints
which bailie the ordinary mode of treatment.

Chest, Loins, Back, Bowels, Muscles. Rheumatism in
all its varied forms, Nervous Affections, Lungs and
Liver Complaints. Spinal Affections, Female Weak
nesses, etc., etc. For the above complaints this Plus
ter has no Equal.. The great celebrity which it has
already acquired, not only in the old hut in the new
world, the extraordinary cures it hns performed in
the most extreme cases of suffering, have acquired
for it such a reputation, that the proprietor has not
until recently been aide to supply half the demand.
The sales throughout every city, tuwn and village
in the United Stntes. are without » parallel I
A circumstance not surprising, when the vast a-
mount of human suffering relieved by its use is con
sidered. In spinal Defects, the benefit usually is of
the most decided character. In Nervous Complaints
nineteen cases out of twenty readily yield to the pen
etrating stimuia combined in this valuable prepare
tion.
In Rheumatism, either neute or chronic, the claims
of the Hebrew Plaster have long since been univer
sally acknowledged. Those who are laboring under
weak bucks, n-> matter from what cause the weakness
may have originated—even if such persons have been
misguided in previous applications in the use of the
Hebrew Plaster they will find the affected p H rt sud
denly restored to its original soundness.
As a supporter in cases of constitutional weakness
it will be tound of great advantage. It is j articular-
ly recommended to Fcninlea whotttre Battering, from
suiidi n weakness, or general debility. In short, it
embraces all tile virtues whichthe mostscientific inind
was capable of compounding h orn valuable substan
ces tound in the old world, and wiil be found entire
ly free from those objections which are a source of
complaint with tile numerous spread-plasters now
before the public.
These plasters possess the advantage of be
ing put up in air tight boxes—hence they retain their
full virtues in all climates.
