T ANDItETII’SGARDEN SEED ■‘—TO
JLl PURCHASERS OF GARDEN SEEDS. It is
tnlf evident, that unless the seedB which wo may
sow, are good in all respects, it will be folly to ex
variety
Is worthlessHow many from their own experi
ence can estimate the annoyance of such an event I
Conscious of the room for improvement, and assured
that the saeds-man who should juBtly be entitled to
confidence, would receive ample support, the foun
ders of tho establishment, now conlucted by the
subscriber, started more than half a century ago,
with the determination to sell nothing but what was
worthy of‘credit; and that they might tlio more cer
tainly accomplish their object, resolved to produce,
as far as possible, the seeds which they should vend;
experience having shown them that most imported
seeds could not be relied on, much less those casual
ly collected, and told to dealers.—Tho result was as
they had foreseen :—unlimited public confidence.
The concern thus conducted, has been gradually en
larged, and is now the most extensive of its kind in
America ; supplying not only much of the demand

From Dr. Hiram Cox. -,

Mr. A. L. Scovill: Howeverreluctr.ntl have been

that in three caset of inaipient consumption, viz: Miss
Belt, Miss Ilarger, und Mr. R. II. Cox, one of the Ci

rated more like a specific than any other remedy, that
I ever used. Ono of the eases, viz : Miss Bell, pro
nounced by several Physicians to be laboring under
the last stage of Scrofulous Consumption. She is
now in good health, from the use of a tew bottles of

Cincinnati, Jan. 25,1847.
•From the Hon. Judge Henry Morse.
Mr. A. L. Scovill; I am well acquainted with
Dr. Hiram Cox and his practice, he having been my
family physician for many years, nnd can cheerfully
say that 1 have as much confidence in his skill as any
man living. HENRY MORSE.
Cincinnati, Nov. 8th, 1847.
From Willintn Rielinrds, M. D.
I feel constrained from a sense oi duty to make
the following statement, conscious that it may appear
unprofessional. Mr. Charles Wade, ot this city, wss
quite low with Pulmonary Consumption, ior which I
had been treating with less than usual success. At
his request, and that of his friends, I permitted him
to try Dr. Rogers' Liverwort and Tar ; and I must
confess that its effects were reHlly surprising. After
using the second bottle my visits were discontinued,
nnd he was soon restored to health. 1 do con
scientiously recommend my brother practitioners to
prescribe this re medy in, all pulmnnnry complaints
which bailie the ordinary mode of treatment.

A certain remedy for all fixed pains in the Side,
Chest, Loins, Back, Bowels, Muscles, Ilheumntism in
all its varied forms, Nervous Affections, Lungs and
Liver Complaints, Spinal Affections, Female Weak
nesses, etc., etc. For the above complaints this Plas
ter has no equal. The great celebrity which it lias
already acquired, rot only in the old but ill the new
world, the extraordinary cures it has performed in
the most extreme cases of suffering, have ncquire.d
toritsuch a reputation, that the proprietor has not
until recently been able to supply-half tile demand.
The sales throughout every city, town and village
in the United States, arc without a parallel I
A circumstance not surprising, when the vast a-
mount of human suffering relieved by its use is con
sidered. In spinal Defects, the benefit usually is of
the most decided character. In Nervous Complaints,
nineteen cases out of twenty readily yield to the pen
etrating stiinula combined in this valuuble prepara
tion.
In Rheumatism, either Route or chronic, the claims
of the Hebrew Plaster have long since been univer
sally acknowledged. 'Those who are laboriug under
weak backs, no matter from what cause the weakness
may have originated—oven if such persons have been
misguided in previous applications in Ibe use of the
Hebrew Plaster they will find the affected part sud
denly restored to its original soundness.
As a supporter in cases of constitutional weakness
it will be found of great advantage. It is particular
ly recommended to Females who are suficring from
sudden weakness, or general debility. In short, it
embraces allthe virtueswhichthe mostscientific mind
was capable of compounding from valuable substan
ces tound in the old world, and wiil be found entire
ly free from those objections which are a source of
complaint, with the numerous spread-plasters now
before the public.
JYJr 1 These plasters possess the advantage of be
ing put up in air tight boxes—hence they retain their
full virtues in all climates.
Beware of Counterfeits nnd Base Imitations.
None genuine without the engraving of Jew David
on tho wrapper around each box. Price 50 cents per

eight plasters.

Compound Fluid Ex-trnct of Conyz.a and
Styllingia.
rpHIS preparation is a Concentrated Extract, con-
A turning all tho Active Medical Properties of tho
Conyza, (commonly known as Black Root,) and the
Styllingia, or Queen’s Delight.
Those plants have been long usedav.ong our South
ern Negroes, and recently by tile Medical Profession,
with the happiest results, in cases of Chronic Rheu
matism, Ulcers of long standing, and Secondary
Syphilis. It is much superior to uny preparation of
Sarsaparilla us an alterative, being more nettve and
prompt in its operation on the system. These facts
have induced the subscribers to present to the ntten
tion of Physicians a fluid oxtract prepared strictly ac
cording to Chemical-and Parmaceutical science, de
void of all the feculent and inert parts of the roots,
not doubting that it willsupcrsede the unscientificand
crude preparations hitherto used.
Price—$1 per bottle, or six bottles for $5.
