PURCHASERS OF GARDEN SEEDS. It Is
self evident, that unless the seeds which Wo may
sow, are good in all respects, it will bo folly to ex-
poet favorable results—■either we shall bo disappoint*
nd by their not vegetating, or wlint is still more
vexatious, find, after careful culture, that tho vuriety
V< worthlessHow many from their own experi
ence can estimate the annoyance of such nn event I
Conscious of tho room for improvement, and assured
that the seeds-man who should justly bo entitled to
confidence, would receive ample support, the foun
ders ot tho establishment, now conducted by tho
subscriber, started morn than half a century ago.
with tho determination to soli nothing but whilt was
worthy of credit; and that theymight tho more cer
tainly accompllshthoir object, resolved to produce,
ns far as possible, tho seeds which they should vend;
experience having shown them that most imported
seeds could not be relied on, much less those casual
ly collected, and told to dealers.—Tho result was as
they had foreseen :—unlimited publio confidence.
The concern thus conducted, has been grnuuully en
larged, and is now the most extensive of its kind in
America; supplying not only much of tho demand
th tho Middle. Western and Southern States, but ex
porting to the West Indies, South America and tho
British Posessions in Asia. DAVID LANDRKTH.

From Dr. Hiram Cox.
Late Professor in Cincinnati Electric Medical College.
Mr. A.' L. Scovill: However reluctant I huvebeeit
to permit my name to bo attached to patent medi
cine, 1 consider it n duty to tho community to state
that in three cases of incipient consumption, viz: Miss
Belt, Miss Ihlrger, and Mr. R. H. Cox, one of the Ci
ty Council, that Dr. Rogers’ Liverwort nml Tar ope
rated mere like a specific than any other remedy, that
1 ever used. One of the cases, viz : Mies Bell, pro
nounced by several Physicians to be laboring under
the last stage of Scrofulous Consumption. She is
now in good health, from the use of a tew bottles of
the above syrup. J _ HIRAM COX, M. 1).
Cincinnati, Jan. 25,1847.
Fromtbe Hon. Judge Henry Morse.
Mr. A. L. Scovill: l am well acquainted with
Dr. Hirntn Cox qnd Ills practice, he having been my
family physician tor many years, und can cheerfully
say that I have as much confidence in his skill as nny
man living. HENRY MORSE.
Cincinnati, Nov. 8th, 1847.
From WIIHnni l{irlmv«Is s M. D.
I feel constrained thorn a sense of duty to make
the following statement, conscious that it may nppenr
unprofessional. Mr. Charles Wade, ofthis city, was
quite low with Pulmonary Consumption, tor which I
lind been treating with less than usual success. At
his request, and that of his friends, I permitted him
to try Dr. Rogers' Liverwort and Tar ; and I must
confess that its effects were really surprising. After
using the second bottle my visits were discontinued,
anil he was soon restored to health. J do con-
scientiously.recommend my brother practitioners to
prescribe this remedy iu all pulmonary complaints
which bailie the ordinary mode of treatment.

The sales throughout every city, town nnd village
in the United States, are without u parallel!
A circumstance not surprising, when the vast a-
mount of human suffering relieved by its use is con
sidered. Jn spinal Defects, the hpnefit usually is of
the most decided character. In Nervous Complaints',
nineteen cases out of twenty readily yield to the pen
etrating stimula combined in this vuluable prepara
tion.
In Rheumatism, either acute or chronic, the claims
of tiie Hebrew Plaster have long since been univer
sally acknowledged. Those who are laboring under
weak backsj no matter from whut cause the weakness
may have originated—even if such persons have been
misguided in previous applications in the use of the
Hebrew.■Plaster they will find the affected part sud
denly restored to its orig’nifl soundness.
As" a snppoftcf*in cases of constitutional weakness
it will be found of great advantage. It is particular
ly recommended to Females who arc suffering from
sudden weakness, or general debility. In short, it
embraces all tho virtues which the mostscientificmind
was capable of compounding from valuable substan
ces tuund in the uld world, and wiil he found entire
ly fr(*e from those objections which are a source of
complaint with the numerous spread-plasters now
before the public.
.Theseplasters possess the advantage of be
ing put up in air tight boxes—hence they retain their
full virtues in all climates.

These plunts have been long used nmoug our South

with the happiest results, in cases of Chronic Rheu

Sarsaparilla as an alterative, being more active and
prompt in its operation on the system. These facts
have induced the subscribers to present to the atten

cording to Chemical and Purniaceuticnl science, de
void of all the feculent and inert parts of the roots,
not doubting that it will supersede the unscientificund
