PURCHASERS OF GARDEN SEEDS. It is
self evident, that unless the seeds which we may
sow, arc good in all respects, it will bo folly to ex
peat favorable resulta—either we shall be disappoint
ed by their not vegetating, or what is atill more
vexatious, find, after careful culture, that the variety
is worthless:—Ilow many from their own experi
ence can estimate the annoyance of such an event L
Conscious of the room for improvement, and assured
that the soeds-mun who should Justly be entitled to
confidence, would receive ample support, the foun
der* of tho establishment, now conducted by the
subscriber, started more than half a century ago.
with the determination to sell nothing but what was
worthy of credit; and that they mighttho more cer
tainly accomplish their objeot, resolved to produce,
us far as possible, the seeds which they should vend;
experience having shown them that most imported
seeds could not lie rolled on, much less those carnal
ly collected, and told to dealers.—The reault wus as
they had foreseen unlimited public- confidence.
The concern thus conducted, has been gradually en
larged, and is now the most extensive of its kind in
America; supplying not only much of the demand
in the Middle, Western and Southern States, but ex
porting to the West Indies, South America and the
British Posessiona in Asia. DAVID LANDRETH.

D* ROGERS
From Dr. Hiram Cox.
Late Profeetorin Cincin nati Electric Medical College.
Mr. A. L. Scovill: Howcverreluctuntl huvebeen
to permit ray name to bo attached to patent medi
cine, I consider it n duty to the community to atate
that in three coset of incipient consumption, viz: Miss
Belt, Mias Barger, and Mr. R. H. Cox. one of the Ci
ty Council, that Dr. Rogers’ Liverwort and Tar ope
rated more like a specific then any other remedy, that
I ever used. One of the enses, viz : Miss Hell, pro
nounced by several Physicians to bo laboring under
the lust stage of Scrofulous Consumption. Slieia.
now in good health, from the use of a few bottles of
tbo above syrup. HIRAM COX, M. D.
Cincinnati, Jan. 25,1847.
From the Hon. Judge Henry Morse.
Mr. A. L. Scovill: I am well acquainted with
Dr. Hiram Cox and Ilia practice, he having been my
family physician for many years, and can cheerfully
say that I have aa much confidence in hla skill as any
man Uving. HENRY MORSE.
Cincinnati, Nov. Sth, 1847.
From William Richards^ M. D.
I feel constrained from a sense of duty to make
the following statement, conscious that it may appear
unprofessional. Mr. Charles Wede, ofthis city, was
quite loi^with Pulmonary Consumption, tor which I
had been treating with less thais usual success. At
hia request, nnd that of his friends, I permitted him
to try Dr. Rogers’ Liverwort and Tar ; and I must
confessthatits efi'ecta were really surprising. After
using the second bottle my visits were discontinued,
and he waB soon restored to health. I do con
scientiously recommend rnv brother practitioners to
prescribe this remedy in all pulmonary complaints
which baffle the ordinary mode of treatment.
