Extensive forests of Muhognny trees, rich mincrul deposits, situations of healthiul resort and safe commodious harbours, are found everywhere; and it is confidently predicted that R few years, wil find the country busy with uu enterprising und ad vancing people. Equully ardent hopes stimulate the exertions of those engaged on the Nlccrsgua route. A Mother’s Heroism.—The house of Peter Knight, of Bath, Me., was nearly destroyed by fire on Weduesday evening, nnd a small child sleeping in tho room where the tiro hurst out, was saved by the intrep’dity of its mother, after ohe or two at tempts to rescue it had been nttfife by others.
