^ THE relaxing beata of summer leave
Bvfit hind them a long train of evile. The most
universal of these are general debility, and its sure
attendant, lowness of spirits. For these we can recom
mend a speedy and unfailing cure, in tho shape
Ilooflsnd's Qorman Bittors, prepared by Dr. C.
Jackson, Philadolphia. It ie, in our opinion, a mcdiclno
sui i/merit—alone—unapproaohablo. It seems to reach
the fountain head of tho difficulty lu tho digostive
sanitation, and thus to relieve the socretions and the
blood of the maecriei morbi, or tho cause of disease.
Us tonio properties giro vigor to tho membranes of the
itomach, and promote the secretion of the gastric juicei
u hich dissolves the food, v hllo its oordial, soothing, and
alternative influence imparts general regularity and
strength to tho action of the eeoretive organs, and
seems to fortify the constitution. 8nch is our own <
perienco of its otfocts, and we beliovo it is oonflrmod by
the evidence of all who have triod it, or had an oppor
tunity of witnessing its oporatiou. For sale by Dr.

Notw itnstanding all these guards, unprincipled par

criminal practice < f buying up empty bottles, fllliug
them w ith vile common gin, which is the most perni
cious poison with which a community was ever cursed,
and sends thousands to a w .-etched drunkard's grave
yearly.
It is only neocssary, therefore, for thoso who purohase

acknowledged to an almost inoredible extent, until it is
a matter ot sumo difficulty to keop up a supply ade

every State and territory in the Union, from Maino to
Oregon and California.
Determined that the virtues of the Schnappa should
bo thoroughly substantiated by tho most undeniable and

to every regular member of the Medical Faculty and
professional Chemist whose name could bo obtained,
soliciting their acceptanco of a bottlo of tho 8oliaappj.

Upw ards of tw o thousand have promptly furnished their
written endorsement that the article is all that is
claimed fur it, and in the strongest language recom
mended its general 11*0, not only as a remedial ageut,
but a delightful, harmless and pleasant bsverage.—
These voluutary endorsements are from gentlemen of
uquestionable knowledge aud the most perfect science.
Nor alone have practitioners aud chemists furnished
thoir toetimouials. Tho public press, in almost ovory
principal city aud tow n, has boldly spoken ‘ "
its editorial columns.
The Now York Modioal Gasctto and Journal cf
Health, high authority, has repeatedly proclaimed Us
excellence. Iu the July number of that Journal, Dr.

discussion upon the subjeet of the use of alcoholic mix

and the viefirs of the medical faculty in reference to my
BchnapDS, in particular, giving an assurance that they
should be spread before tho publio. Physicians, there
fore, who have not already complied with my request to
forward mo their opinion, os to its qualities, wilt oblige
me by doing so through the editor of the Medical Ga

Were it necessary to do moro than simply state this
of these authorities, all on fllo at tho warurooms of the
