upon the sectional dispute between the North and
the South, will seriously disturb the relations of

of our trades depend upon the Southern market;
some have suddenly ceased operation for Want of
orders from the South, and consequently employers

stantly killed, on Monday, the 12th Inst., by becom
ing entangled In [the machinery of a co’ton gin, at
his father’s place, In Effingham county. The de
ceased was ag*»d 7 year* and 11 months, and waa
well grown for his age. Handsome and Intelligent,
he was of a most gentle and affectionate disposi
tion; an only child, he was the pride an J Idol of
fend and indulgent parents, the object around
which clustered their fondest hopes and warmest
affections. Under all circumstances the loss of
rich a child would be an affliction hard to bear, but
only those “baptised In the same sorrow,’’ who
have seen the one Under blossom cf their earthly
hopea crashed and blighted In an Instant, can real
ise the heart crashing agony of such a bereave
ment. For griefs like these there U no earthlr solace,
and onronly recourse Is to Him, whose mysterious
and Insrontlblo providence we may not penetrate
bat whom we know “doeth all things well.”
