I put it upon land that was very badly worn, say—

where l put the Phosphate 1 picked a little over
hutulrid pounds to flu acre ! I am bo well pleased

phate of Lime. 1 applied R on Corn and Cotton with
‘ten other manures; the land, though poor and old,
whs of uniform quality.and tho fortilUers.woro caro-
fully weighed by mysellon a pair of Falrbank’s scales.
The kinds I used were No. 1 Peruvian. Bauds’ Ex
celsior, Hoyt's American, Robinson. Kettle we 11 s,
Mapes’, Rhodes’, J J. *• F. Turner’s, and Cotton
Send. The C'orn was cut down three times with the
bud worm, which made it very late and uneven. The
drouth set in the fit it h Juno, and lasted thirty-eight
