Confederate Congreee-Tlae Tax Bill Paused. Richmond, April **J0.—The House today paused ibe Conference Tax bill, which wus pre viously passed by the Seuole. The 1st section levies a tax ol ai^ht per cent, upou the value of all Naval stores, bait, wines, liquors, tobacco, manufactured or uumauulactured ; cotton, wool, flour, sugar, molasses, syrup, rice uud other agricultural products held or owued ou the first day of July next, not necessary lor family consumption, the growth or production ol any preceding year , and ou all monies on hand or on deposit on the lirst day of July, and on the value ol all credits not employed iu business, the* income from which is taxed one per cent. The 5:b eectiou provides a specific tax ou each trade or busluess named thereiu, and an advalorem tax on sales, uot materially different from the bill originally passed by the House, except that hotels, taverns uud eating houses arc to be classified according to the yearly rental. Wbeu the actual or estimated xeiit amounts to $10,000, the lax shall be live hundred dollars. The smallest tax in this p .ra graph Is thirty dollars. The section regulating taxes ou incomes is substantially the same as those passed by the Senate, except that interest on Confederate bonds und ou slock is not exempt, The lax incomes over live hundred and not exceeding nfteen hundred dollars is live per cent.; over fifteen huudred and less Ibau three liiousuud dollars, five per cent, ou the first fifteen buu dred dollars, then ten per cent.; or over three Chousaud dollars and less than five thousaud, ten per cent.; over five thousaud and uuder ten thousaud dollars, twelve and uhalf per ceut., ou all over ten thousand dollars, the lax is fifteen per cent. Section ten imposes a tax ol tea per cent, on all profits made during the past year by pur chase ol provisions, tornge, shoes, clothes, etc., except when made iu the due course ol regular retail business. The Savannah aery has turned out, and is now turning out a large quantity of leather of superior quality, which the proprietors have generally sold to consumers under the market price.
