On Saturday evening last de parted this life, Mils Nancy Armiftead, eiaeft daughter of Mr. Thomas Armiftead, deceafeu, formerly of this town. The circumstances attending the death, cf this amiable and agreeable young lauy, who in tlie prime of lift and bloom of health is thus fnatchcd from her numerous re latives and friehds, are ti%ly melancholy, andught to re mind us of tlift awful lesion, # “ In the midfi of life wc arc in death.” Returning from a friend’s lioufe, where flie had been te an entertainment, in company with several of her relations and friends, the horses in the carriage, in which were Mrs. Armiftead, Miss Julia Armiftead, and tlie deceased, took fright in coming down the hili near Fleet’s Mills, and run away with the Carriage; Mrs. Armiftead was soon thrown out, and the horses had not run far before they broke away from the carriage, and tlie carriage went on a fmaii diftauce and fell down a precipice of about 1 o feet, with tlie two young ladies in it, among a parcel of rocks; Miss Nancy Armiftead was dallied against the rocks and iaftantly expir ed; her After Julia is very much hurt; Mrs. Armiftead is considerably broiled. Wilmington, (North Carolina) July 12. On tlie I oth cf March last the brig Franklin, Capt. John Dryf dale, from Liverpool, bound to this port, was captured by a French privateer of 22 guns, carried into Corunna in Spain, and vefiel and cargo condemned. The privateerl'- mtn robbed Capt. Dryl’dale and his crew of every thing they .polfc fled. 1 here are 11 fail of neutral veflels at Corunna, two or three of which arc condemned daily, let their papers be ever so clear, or belong to who they may. Yesterday arrived the barque Juno, Eiitlrock, Hamburgh, 98 days. ’The If rip Nancy, Simons, had arrived at Hamburgh from this port; Several veflels were to fail from Hamburgh for this port soon after the Juno."’ .
