. January 22. According to private advices, said to be
received by the Hamburgh mails, it appears probable that
Sweden will join Ruflia in the war against France; and in
this case it is likely that Denmark will not remain neutral.
1 lie King of Sweden having refufed to accept of Citizen
La Marque as French Minifler~ihe Executive Directory
has threatened to break off all communication with the
Court of Stockholm. Since then the alliance between
Sweden and Ruflia has become more close. The King of
Sweden depends on the powerful afliftance of Ruflia to keep
the States of his kingdom in awe, should they shew any
signs of tumult at the approaching meeting of the Diet. It
is probable that this may be the cause of the King’s refills!
to receive Citizen La Marque, fearing the intrigues of the
French Government.

within a day’s march of Vienna when tlie last accounts
Came away, it appears, by the last letters received by the
mail of the 25th of last month from Peterfburgh, that the
Emperor of Ruflia has collefted another army of above
40,000 men to aflift the cause of the Allies.
I lie Rufiian auxiliaries have had anew uniform, in the
Prufiian mode, and are to be reviewed bv the Archduke
Charles as soon as they arrive upon the Danube.
Butrinto, upon tlie continent, opposite Corfu, has been
laid in ashes by the Ruffian and Turkish fleets, who alio
bombard the callle of Corfu from that politico, where the

made any impression on the place on the- 2 2d.
Ihe Grand Duke of Tuscany has opened a loan of

armed in their (lead; they indiferiminatefy capture all neu
tral veflels they fall in with incapable of defending tlieni
fel-ves, which are carried into any French or Spaniib ports.
The lroft between the 23d and 27th ult. at Vienna was
