THE subscriber having declined the Dry Goods byfi
nefs, offers himfelf to his friends, and the public in
general, in the above line. He will fell and purcbafe all
forts of Produce, likewise Lands, Negroes, &c. He flat
ters himfelf he will give fatisfaftion to those who may favor
him with their commands, being well acquainted wit# the
advantages that arise from ijffckneCs of sale, as well as delay.
All persons having demands against him are requeued to
call, in order that the fam? may be difeharged. And those
indebted, either by book or note, are solicited to make
payment previous to the firft day of February ensuing, as
after that period all &c. will be lodged with an
Attorney at Law.

the general digeff from the Receiver of Tax Returns
for the year 1799, and is ready to collect the taxes for
laid year at his office Weft Broad street. Executions a

CAUTION.
THE Tax Colleftor, and others concerned in adver
tiling for sale 3000 acres of land, granted to Hen
ry Middleton, and 12000 acres granted to William
Middleton, said by the Colledor to be in,Glynn county,
and to be fold on the 21st January 18 *O, for non-payment
of taxes, are hereby notified, that all taxes due on the
laid lands have been paid as they , became* due, and regular
returns made in the name of the Estate of William
Middleton., in Chatham countv, where the agents, of the
heirs of the laid William Middleton relide, agreeable to
law: Therefore any lale or sales of the whole, or any
part of the lands, ibr taxes, are forbid.

Five Dollars Reward.
RAN AWAY from the subscriber fome time ago, A
NEGRO GIRL, about 16 years of age, named
MYRA, had on when (be went away a white woollen
frock. Also, A NEGRO WENCH, named NANCY,
of a light complexion, had on when lhe went away a
brown negro cloth wrapper and checkered petticoat. They
are both lately from Africa, and speak but indifferent
Englifli. The above reward will be paid on. their being
delivered to the fobferiher, with an addition of 25 dollars
on proof of either pf them being harbored by either a

The French and Englifc Languages will be taught
gramvnatically; Writing, Matheniatics, attfl
the Belles Lettres, will receive every attentipn it is in their
power to bellow; and every necessary cofreftion will bis
attempted in. the morals and manners of the youth intrud
ed to their care.
TERMS.
For English, Writing, Arithmetic, Mathematics, arid
the Belles Lettres, 8 dollars per quarter, 3 dollars en
trance. Ditto, with the French Language, 15 dollars per
quarter, 5 dollars entrance. Drawing, 5 dollars per
quarter. Dancing and Music, (by a celebrated Matter)
on the usual terms. Young Ladies will be inftrtifted in
English, Writing, Arithmetic, &c. from 9 to 12 o’clock
in the forenoon, at 5 dollars per quarter, and 2 dollars
entrance. N. B. No entrance money will be expefted
from Me firs. Munns and Higham’s former pupils.

WHEREAS a libel hath been filed in the said Court,
on behalf of the United States, again ft Two
Pieces of Cannon landed from on board the schooner Pic
ket, whereof Broadfcot is Matter or Commander,
now lying in the port of Savannah, and within, the jurif
diftion of this Court, without any permit or lawful autho
rity for that purpose, and contrary to tjie aft of Congress
in that case made and provided, you are therefore com
manded to cite and admonish, and these are to cite and
admonifb the owner or owners of the laid two pieces of
cannon, being three pounders, and all other persons who
have or, claim any property therein, to be and appear at a
Diftrift Court, to be held at Savannah, at the Ccurthoufe
in tlie Diftrift aforefaid, on the third day of January next,
to an Tver’the United States m the premises. Witness the
Honorable Joseph Clay junior, Esquire, Judge of the
said Court, the eighteenth day of December, one thoufund
seven hundred and ninety-nine.

10 or 11 inches high, rather of a yellow
complexion; from a natural bend in his

lhoulder, so much as to be plainly difee
vered at a confidcrable distance. When be firft absented
himfelf it was supposed he had gone towards Augusta,
where lie long relided, and wrought at his trade with his
father. They then both belonged to Mr. William Wal
lace, merchant, and moved with him to this place about
four years ago. Frank is very artful and fpcaks good
Englifli; he is also very well kn*wn in Augusta and Sa
vannah. The above reward, and all reafcnable expences,
will be paid on delivering the above fellow to the subscriber
or the Gaoler of this city. If he returns of his own ac
cord he will be forgiven, but if taken severely punished.

small and pointed, his near eye is a little funk and cloud
ed, apparently from feme external injury; he lias a streak
of white down his face, which turns down or across the
near-fide of his nose; he has a fear on the near hind leg,
just above the ham, and exactly behind, at the bottom of
the thigh, with feme white hairs thereon; he has a peculiar
manner of blowing and (honing when firft letting off to
travel, and has an uncommon lofty carriage; his back is
hollow, and had a lump thereon, called by -feme a navel
gall; it is supposed he had a brand of feme kind on the
lhoulder, but cannot be certain whether or-not, or, if any,
what it is. 1 lie horle cost ryo dollars, and will he given
to the person who will deliver him and die thief (who is
supposed to he a John Jones, who lives near Turtle river,
in Georgia) to the subscriber, at Clieraw Courthoufc, in
