November 10. Preparations are in considerable for-
Veardnefs for an expedition, whole success will be a deadly
stroke to the powerful, though at present inactive, marine
of the enemy. ‘ - -
The Dutch democrats are stated to have been greatly
indignant with gen. Brnne for his convention with the
English, conceiving that the relative situation -of the two
armies entitled the republicans to even more favorable
terms.
The duke of York, on landing at Yarmouth on Sunday,
(attended by gen. Dundas, col. Brownrigg, and fir H.
Popham) was met by lord Duncan, in whole carriage his
royal highness was conveyed to the house of the noble ad
miral by the populace, who took away the horses and
. drew the coach. The duke arrived in town at 6 o’clock ,
on Monday morning, and lliortly after set off for Wind
sor, whence, after a short stay with their majeftits, he
proceeded to the duchess at Oatlands.
The hereditary prince of Orange, it is said, is to have
the command of the 6000 Dutch troops at the Isle of
Wight. _
The guards have arrived in town from Holland; from
whence 7000 Ruffians put into Yarmouth on the 7th, on
their way to Guernsey.
Count d’Artois, on arriving at his house in Wclbeck
street on the 3d, received, it is asserted, a message from
high autliority to return to Guilford.
An officer of high rank is said to have been committed
to Newgate on a charge of treason.

The fhtp Superb, capt. Fares, from London, bound to
* Wilmington, North Carolina, put into Charleflon last
Monday. She brings accounts of another change having
taken place in the government of the French republic. On
the 9th of November the Council of Elders deflked that
the legislative body should be transferred to the commune
of Cloud. Next day they received a letter from the
lccrl:ary general of the dire&ory, flaring, that four of
the directors had resigned, and the fifth was placed in
lafety by gen. Buonaparte. Fargues Hated that Buona
parte had escaped assassination in the hall of the council of
five hundred, and that Arena had attacked him with apo
. niard. In the evening Lucien Buonaparte repaired to the
council of ancients, where he related what had patted in
the council of five hundred; he said that Arena and several
others wanted to compel him to nut to the vote a declara
tion of outlawry again ft his brother. The council of eld
ers, after fitting a long while in a secret committee, came
to the following decision: 1. That the legislative is ad
journed to-the iflNivofe, (December 21.) 2. That there
fiall be appointed (ad interim ) an executive commission
confifling of three members. 3. There shall be appointed
a legislative commission of fuperintendance, to be composed
of 25 members. The council at 7 o’clotl adjourned till
9 when they proceeded to the appointment of die citizens

whom had escorted him in from the country.

ON the petition of Charles Harris, Attorney for the
Executors of the Estates of Francis Maria L. Dou
mouffay de la Vauve, and of Hyacinthe de Chapedelaine,
deceased, shewing to the Court, that it will be of advantage,
and for the benefit of the heirs and creditors of said Eflates,
that Three Undivided Fifths of Two Lots, with the Im
provements thereon, situate in the ekv of Savannah, viz.
Lot N 9 . T(two) Ellis tithirfg, Heatfcote ward, and Lot
N°. 37 (thirty-seven) Franklin ward, should be fold, and
flitaving further, that the proprietors of the other two fifths,
that is to fay, Poulain Dubignon and Grand Grofmele, have
consented to the sale; it is ordered by the Court , That
nine months publication of this rule shall be made in one
of the Savannah Gazettes, pursuant to law, and, if no
objections appear thereto, an order for sale absolute will
then be made of the said three undivided fifths of the lots,

NEGRO GIRL, about 16 years of age, named
MYRA, had on when she went away a white woollen
frock. Also, A NEGRO WENCH,'named NANCY,
of a light complexion, had on when she went away a
brown negro cloth wrapper and checkered petticoat. They
are both lately from Africa, and speak but indifferent
English. The above reward will be paid en their being
delivered to the fubferiber, with an addition of 25 dollars
on proof of either of them being harbored by either' s **

four years ago. Frank is very artful and speaks good
English; he is also very well known in Augusta and Sa
vannah. The above reward, and all reasonable expenccs,
will be paid on delivering the above fellow to the fubferiber
or the Gaoler of this city. If he returns of his own ac
cord he will be forgiven, but if taken severely punifbed.
