WAS cOmpofed by a mod eminent and learned Phy
lician in Hungary, who only disposed thereof
Limfelf to people in the grcatell and heaviest of lickneifes,
especially in the mod raging contagious times, in that
part of the world, and communicated the fame to a tra
veller of experience, to be used for the health of man,
♦'oman, and child.
This mod excellent and helpful Tintture drengthens the
stomach, greatly promotes appetite, and helps digedion;
carries off wind and bile, pains in the bread, vapors or
giddiness in the head; is It drong remedy againd infe&ious
air and thick foggy weather; speedily relieves a griping in
the bellv, or violent cholic; a mod wonderful cure for the
feurvy and adhma,- and a powerful remedy to carry off
Worms in children; and by frequent use it fu’otrafts the ■
phlegmatic humor from the thick heavy blood, so as to
prevent feurvy, gout, sciatic, and other diseases of the
body. By experience it will recommend itftlf beyond any
ocher drops. It has been found very ufeful and neceffury
in families, and for travellers by sea or land.
In any of the above complaints take from 20 to 30 or
40 drops looming and evening, or three times a day, in
wine, brandy, water, ale, or tea; and in cases of emerg
ency the dole may be repeated with perfect fafety at half
an hour’s interval, or in 15 minutes, if necefiary: In a
high fever from 50 to 60 drops may be given. People in
health may take 20 drops in the morning in any of the
above liquors, which makes a fine bitter, with a pleasant
flavor.
|iT7“ These Drops were formerly made and fold by
Mr. Christopher Don, merchant in Edinburgh; after
wards by his heir, Mr. Alexander Moubray, of said
place: Since his decease the receipt was handed to the
present proprietor, a relation of the family; and, from the
various inflanccs of the surprising good efft dis of this Me
dicine in a neighboring State, and from the entreaties of
numbers v,ho have received amazing benefit therefrom,
ILe has been induced to make it in quantities for the uni
versal good of mankind. It is made and fold by the fub
feriber, the proprietor, at No. 21 Tradd street, Charleston,
at half a dollar per phial, with dire&ions; who will make
suitable allowance to those who purchase quantities for
retail: Also. by her appointment, in Savannah, by Mr.
