Howley reiided at the date of the mortgage, and did re

Rowley to ms excellency George Mathews, then gover
nor and commander in chief in and over the laid state of
(..■f'lgin, and to his fucctfiors in oil ice, for the lecuvity of
the mm of one mir.drcd pound?, eight ihlilings, and eight
pence, (equal to four hundred and thirty dollars and for
- tv-three cents) contained in a bond from the said Sarah
Howley to the aforelaid George Mathews, late governor
aforelaid, and his fuccelfors in ofiice, bearing even date
\sivn die laid mortgage, and on morion of mr. Bulloch,
attorney general, it is ordered, I hat the principal, in
terUl, anu colls, upon the laid bend and mortgage, be
paid into, court within twelve months from this date, and
tmlels the fame fliall be so paid the equity of redemption

ordered, in pursuance of the laid aft, That this rule be

of the estate of George Handley, deceased, praying

hundred acres, fttuate, lying, and being, on Colonel’.!

lands of colonel John Baker and lands of Thomas Young
and having such shapes and marks as are exprefllve and laid
down in the plat thereof, reference thereto being had may
more fully appear, mortgaged by the said Samuel Elbert
to the said Sarah Handley,, her heirs and aftigns, for the •
security of the sum of two hundred and eighty-four pounds,
equal in value to one thonfand two hundred and seventeen
dollars fourteen cents, with interest; and on motion of
mr. Harris, of counsel for the plaintiff; it is ordered ,
