brig Greyhound, from Jacmel to Charleston,
vith coffee, detained by his majesty’s lliip Calypso; and a
foreign .schooner.
‘i'iie Uanifii schooner Hope, Smith, from St. Domingo,
Vi :-h seven Spanifli passengers, (four women and three men)
yefterday. They inform that Toufiaint was within
t !, re e miles of the city of St. Domingo, which occasioned
their departure, and that they believed he was ere this in
complete poflefficn of the Spanifli part of that island.
January 20. Arrived an American brig from New
• York to jacmel, with provisions, detained by his majesty’s
’ lliip Tifipteie.
The American schooner Betsey, from Jacmel to St. Ja
gC, with provisions, detained by his majesty’s fliip Bonetta;
ad the American schooner Olive, from Baltimore to St.
Domingo, also with provisions, detained by his majesty’s

Lord Nelfbn, we understand, is to have the command of
it, and the Baltic is rumored to be its destination. It was
not to be expefted that we Ihould fuffer our ships to be de
tained with impunity, and it is hoped that the squadron
will be ready and in the Baltic before the winter season
fit? in.
T’he great supply of rice imported into this country from
India is expefted to arrive in the month of September
next. The ships are to make dire ft voyages, and no de
vrrion which may occasion de’iav, by touching at any pore
in their way home, is to be permitted.

did thereupon enter up judgment against the said Charles
Abercrombie, f>r the lum of 4285 dollars 70 cents: And
whereas the laid Charles Abercrombie did file his petition
and bill on the equity fide of the said court, praying relief
from the laid judgment, and, for the in
the said bill, an injunction was granted, forbidding all
further proceedings taking place on the judgment aforefaid;
and, in the term of November last, it appearing to the

the Hate of Kentucky, and not within the jurisdiction of
