WHEREAS Benjamin Taliaferro, Esq. one of the
Representatives of this State in the Congrcls of
the United States, hath religned his ieat as a member there
of: And Whereas, in and by an aft to regulate the ge
neral elections in this Hate, and to appoint the time ol the
meeting of the General Alfembly, palled the iit i *y <->
February, 1799, it is, among other things, declared, 1 hat
all writs of elections to fill vacancies that njay lappen or
Members of the General Assembly of this Bate, or Hou e
of Representatives of the United States, shall irec. e
to the fultices of the Inferior Courts of the reipe&ive coun
ties, who are hereby required to give public notice thereof,
and cause the lame to be held in manner and form as herein
before pointed out agreeably to luch writ: I ha\ e there

Savannah, March 3, 1802.
THE Health Officer having reported to Council that
the fniallpox prevails in the city of CharleHon at
this time,
Ordered, That no person be differed to land from on
board any veflel or boat arriving in this port from the city
of Charleston until a certificate ol health shall firH be ob
tained; and that any person violating this order fliall be
prosecuted as the quarantine law directs.
Ordered, That the Health Officer be required to en
force this order, and that a copy ot it be publilhed in the
Gazettes of the city.

to bring all vessels coming from Charleston to an anchor
off Fort Wayne for examination.

Lands for Sale.
A TRACT, containing 300 acres, in Glynn county,
anu another of 600 acres, both surveyed in 1769;
the former on a branch of the Buffalo I’wamp, and the
latter about 20 miles from Brunswick, equal in quality t#
any in the county.
A trail of upwards 3000 acres on Canouchie, excellent
pine land, on which was a mill feat before the revolution;
it will be divided lb as to suit purchasers.

RAN AWAY from the fubferiber, on the 20th instant
A Negro. Fellow, by the name of BRAY, 6 f ee J
high, about 30 years of age, his little finger on his left
hand crooked, two of his upper fore teeth out, had on whe
he went away drab trowfers and jacket, a checked shirt
which were all tire clothes he took with him; he will enl
dtavor to get to North Carolina, and in all probability will
change his name and dress. I hereby forewarn all captain*
or mailers of vessels from taking away said Negro, under
the penalty of the law. The above reward will be gives
to any person who will deliver him to me in Savannah, or
secure him in any gaol, so that I get him again.

200 DOLLARS REWARD.
RUN AWAY, A Negro Wench, named NELLY,
about 42 years of age, thick built, about 5 feet 7
inches in height; flie fays file is free, and in such an im
posing manner as might deceive the mod cautious. Any
one who fliall take up the laid Nelly in the Bate of Geor
gia, and fliall lodge her in gaol, or deliver her to the fub
feriber, shall receive 40 dollars reward; 70 dollars to any
one who fliall take her up in the next state, and ioodoh
lars to any one who shall secure her in the third date, and
lodge her in the gaol of the place where taken, or deliver
her to the fubferiber in Savannah. 200 dollars reward will
be given to any one who can prove to conviction anyfree
person of harboring and concealing the said Negro Nelly,
All mailers of vessels are rtquefted not to receive or carry
off the said wench, as they may depend, if difeovered, off
being prosecuted to the utmoll rigor of the law.

THIRTY DOLLARS REWARD.
RUN AWAY, on Thursday night lad, the 28th ult.
A Negro Boy, named JACOB or MAY, lie for.
merly belonged to Mr. John Anderson, baker, is a Guinea
Negro, had on when lie went off white overalls, ofnaburgh
shirt, blue jacket with a white collar and white pocket
facings, green fwanfdown waifleoat, no hat or llioes. He
has been seen frequently since about town, goes to the
daughter pens near Spring Hill, keeps about Yamacraw,
and was seen ytfterday. The above reward will be paid
on his delivery at the gaol, or to me, and ONE HUN
DRED DOLLARS if harbored, on convi&ion.
