“Our goal is to make stable pre

Marcotte. “We hope our resource

“It’sbeen rewarding for me tobe

Few things are as utterly frustrating,
maddening, and unsatisfying as a sneeze
that never quite makes it. On the flip
side, few things are as hard tosquelch as
a sneeze on its way out. The question is,
should you trytohold sneezes back? The
answer is no. Sneezing is the body’s
natural and necessary way of clearing
out irritations. Even if you succeed in
squelching a sneeze, the urge to purge
will return until the irritation is re
moved. The real harm in suppressing a
sneeze, though, is the potential damage
you could do to your inner ears. The
average sneeze comes barreling out at
about 100 miles per hour, and if you
throw up a tight roadblock, by clamping
both nose and mouth shut, you could
end up forcing that blast up into the

The result could be a painfully ruptured ear

MEANS, cover your mouth! Sneezing is one
of the most potent ways of spreading germs.
