Can Hunger thanks Augusta
The results are in for two of our
fall food and money drives. The
Kroger “Can Hunger” campaign
that took place last December and
the 1996 Food Industry Crusade
Against Hunger Campaign held by
Food Lion, which ran from late
October to early January, were
both great successes. Golden Har
vest owes a great big “Thank You”
tothe Augusta community for show
ingits support of hunger relief with
both their money and their food.
These campaigns are instrumen
tal during the holiday season asthe
pressing his members’appreciation
toMs. Dailey for “always being cour
teous and polite and going beyond
the ‘call of duty’ in assisting them.”
She always has a smile on her face,
displaying a courteous and helpful
attitude to all who seek her assis
tance. In her spare time, she is an
avidtennis player and busy mother
of anactive four-year-old son.

need for food increases.
Unfortunately, hungeris a prob
lem that people face year round.
During the spring and summer
seasons, our donations hit a low
point. On Saturday, May 10, the
National Association of Letter Car
riers will be sponsoring a national
food drive. We are asking that resi
dents put out their can food dona
tions with their mail for their car
rier to pick up. Once again, we are
hoping that Augusta will join usin
the fight against hunger in our
area.
