Lakeside Middle School, and
Langford Middle School. The event
will feature local sportsdemonstra
tions and performances, the Ameri
can Heart Association Jump Rope
for Hearts Demo Team and two
Hunt for Bo sprees. :
The first hunt will be awarded to
a local customer drawn at random
at the store on Saturday, and the
second will feature an AHA Child
Ambassador who has been chal
lenged with heart problems. The
hunters will be allowed to keep all
captured items that can be loaded
intoashoppingcart within the des
ignated time period.

trends reflect that 31 million of
today’s 75 million children will even-
tually be at risk of heart and blood
vessel disease, Jumbo Sports felt
strongly about backing the national
Heart Power! program. Itinvolvesa
pre-tomiddle-school curriculumkit
that teaches school children how to
maintain a healthy heart through
exercise, nutrition and staying to
bacco-free.
The American Heart Association
spentover $251 million during fiscal
year 1995-1996 for research sup
port, public and professional educa
tion, and community programs.
With more than four million volun
teers, the AHA is the largest volun
taryhealthorganizationfightingheart
disease and stroke, which annually
kill more than 950,000 Americans.
