Dear Betty, Frozen Fresh Berry
The kids and I just picked up Yogurt: Substitute 2 pints
a brand new ice cream strawberries or raspberries
freezer at a yard sale, and | for the peaches. Mash

the fresh peaches from our using blender or food

ideas? Continue as directed.
New Britain, CT
On a list of my favorite summer
treats, fresh peaches would be right
up there near the top. Now throw in
something frozen and so much the
better. Here's a peachy recipe that
combines both, and another version
for all you berry-pickers out there.
FROZEN FRESH PEACH
YOGURT
3 cups fresh or frozen (thawed)
peach slices
1/2 cup sugar
8 cups vanilia yogurt
Place peaches and sugar in
blender or food processor. Cover and
blend on medium speed until almost
smc 'th. Stir into yogurt. Pour into
2-quart ice-cream freezer and freeze
according to manufacturer’s
directions. About 22 servings
(1/2 cup each), or one really hefty
portion for the peach-passionate. If
you’ve got a l-quart freezer, just
divide the ingredients in half.

Transforming the fresh fruits of
summer into homemade frozen treats
is one of those priceless childhood
experiences your kids will remember
for a lifetime. And I don’t care how
good the store-bought frozen desserts
are these days, they’ll never come
close to the emotional flavor of
doing it yourself.
