NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
A public hearing will be held on Thursday, August 7, 1997, at
7:00 p.m. in Room 803 of the Augusta Municipal Building at
530 Greene Street by the Augusta-Richmond County Plan
ning Commission. The purpose of the public hearing will be
to receive public comments on changes to the text of the
Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance that are proposed by the
staff. Most of the proposed changes were made necessary by
the consolidation of the governments of Augusta and Rich
mond County. Some such changes involve eliminating refer
ences to the “City of Augusta,” “County,” “unincorporated
area” and other terms and phrases which are no longer
applicable. Other changes due to consolidation involved
standardization of sections for which the former City and
County had different regulations. Inaddition, there are some
editorial changes and a limited number of regulatory changes
that are not related to consolidation. The results of this public
hearing will be presented to the Planning Commission at
their regular meeting on August 11, 1997, at 3:00 p.m. in
Room 803, Augusta Municipal Building, 530 Greene Street,
which shall constitute the legal public hearing on this issue
per the O.C.G.A.
.
