Chapman, 66, of 1421 Pine Log
Road, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 1997,

“balancing the budget” rather
than fighting for the S2OO billion
urban economic investment pro
gram promised in the 1992 elec
tion campaign, which helped to
mobilize people of color to vote

bassadors leader. He coached
Pee Wee football.
Survivors include his wife,
Betty Sue Bradley Chapman; two
sons, Noel Felton Chapman and
Wallace Clayton Chapman, both
of Aiken; one daughter, Teresa
Chapman Ross of Aiken; one sis
ter, Betty Chapman George of
Greer; and eight grandchildren.

Mr. Bernard Edward Ott Jr.,
81, of 2 St. Ann’s Court in Aiken,
died Nov. 9 at Aiken Regional
Medical Centers.

at the Shellhouse Funeral Home
with the Rev. Stephen Roehrs
officiating. The burial was pri
vate.
Mr. Ott, a native of Brooklyn,
N.Y., had lived in Aiken since
1983. He had retired from Mo
bile Oil Co. as a blender and was
an Army veteran of World War
11. He was a member of
Houndslake Country Club and
Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife,
Ellen Elizabeth Schneider Ott; a
son, Douglas Edward Ott of New
foundland, N.J.; a daughter, Ju
dith Dieterle of West Warlick,
R.I; a sister, Marion Summers
of Lindenhurst, N.Y.; and seven
grandchildren and six great
grandchildren.
