Events around Augusta this weekend
Briefsummary on this weekend's
events:
= Cyber Playground, a national
touringexhibit of computer games
dating back to the 19705, will re
main on display at Ft. Di.~ very
Science Center until January 16.
Ft. Discovery will open Monday
through Friday from 10 am. to 5
p.m.; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Satur
day, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
General admission is $8 for ages
17-59, $6 for 60 and older and ages

Three courses to assist prospec

sons will be offered in January by
the University of Georgia Busi
ness Outreach Services/ Small
Business Development, Augusta
office. Registering for the courses
should be completed one week prior
to the course starting date. Call

“Starting Your Own Business”
will be offered two times, January
13, and January 29, at 6:30 - 8:30
p.m. This two-hour course will
cover an overview of necessary
planning, legal forms of business,
financing resources, licenses, per
mits, insurance for business and
operating legally. Fee is S3O.
“Bookkeeping For Small Busi
ness” will be offered January 22 at
6:30-8:30 p.m. This workshop will
cover the difference between book
keeping and accounting, how ac
countants use the information,
what records to keep and how long
to keep them, recording transac
tions (debits and credits), book
keeping documents (journals, led
gers, etc.), and financial statement
components. Fee is S3O.
