hold a ground breaking ceremony
on May 22nd at 10 a.m. to cel
ebrate its new facility, located on
Interstate Parkway in Augusta.
The new facility will replace the
13,000 square foot facility cur
rently occupied.
. IKON Office Solutions, Inc., with
home offices in Valley Forge, Pa.,
announced construction plans for
anew 25,000 square foot facility to
house their Central Market Place
operations. The new facility will

gusta operations in February of
1993, and in June of that year they

Bargeron leaves for Atlanta

ALLTEL recently promoted
Steve Weeks to vice president and
general manager for the Augusta/
Aiken market. Don Bargeron, who
previously held this position, was
named director of roaming and
resale for ALLTEL Communica
tions, Inc., and is now located in
ALLTEL’s Atlanta office.
As vice president and general
manager, Weeks is responsible for
overseeing the day-to-day opera
tions of ALLTEL’s Augusta/Aiken
market area, including sales, cus
tomer service, network engineer
ing, fiscal resources and person
nel. Steve Weeks and his wife,
Powel, moved to Augusta at the
beginning of the year from Flo-
acquired Copy Products, a local
company with operations located
in Belvedere, S.C. Along with that
acquisition came the Copy Prod
ucts manager, Lamar Leßoy, who
became general manager for Acme
Business Products and later vice
president for the Augusta District.
Under Mr. Leßoy’s leadership the
company experienced continued
growth making it necessary to re
locate the company from Lumpkin
Road to their current building on
Belair Frontage Road in Decem-

Bargeron is

roaming
agreements with other wireless
carriers, which result in lower
roaming rates for ALLTEL cus
tomers. Bargeron will also ar
range resale agreements in all of
ALLTEL’s wireless properties.
During Bargeron’s 10-year ten
ure in Augusta, he served as presi
dent of the Georgia/Carolina Coun
ber of 1987.
In October of 1996 Acme Busi
ness Products and Modern Office
Machines, both owned by Alco
Standard Corporation, merged
under the new corporate identity
of IKON Office Solutions. Acme’s
vice president, Lamar Leßoy, was
promoted topresident of the newly
created Central Market Place. The
merger, along with continued
growth in the Augusta market,
necessitated the just announced
construction plans.
